Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
When I start the washing machine the cycle will run for 5 to 10 minutes then will stop. I have to open the lid and slam until it catches and machine starts again. It only does this one time and will continue to run for the entire cycle after that. Would this be the switch or the timer?
Likely, the lid switch needs position adjustment or replacement. Open the top cover to access the switch. Connect the two switch wires together and tie up so that they can't short out to anything, then run the machine a couple of times to see if this fixes the primary problem. If so, reconnect the wires, then try the switch adjustment for fix, then replace the switch if adjustment fails.
