Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Have a Whirlpool ultimate care top load - when I start the cycle machine will run for 5 to 10 min then will stop. I have to open lid and slam lid until it catches. Machine will run from that point on. Could this be the switch on the lid or would this be the timer?

Unless you have a pre-wash option, it is probably the catch at fault.

These can wear and need replacement.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care top load

Likely, the lid switch needs position adjustment or replacement. Open the top cover to access the switch. Connect the two switch wires together and tie up so that they can't short out to anything, then run the machine a couple of times to see if this fixes the primary problem. If so, reconnect the wires, then try the switch adjustment for fix, then replace the switch if adjustment fails.

My Whirlpool ultimate II will fill up and then stop

The lid switch need to be replaced. You might try to lengthen the rod that pushes it down. You might try trimming lid bumpers with a razor blade to make the rod go down further.

I fixed mine with a toothpick and a piece tape. Make the tab on the door longer that activates the switch. Try triming the lid bumpers

Whirlpool ultimate care II stops during cycle

THe most likely cause for this is either the lid switch or the timer itself sticking.
