Question about Powermatic 1791210 Model 15S Deluxe Planer

Belt for Powermatic 15" Planer (Planer Model M-0460213)

I have a refurbished Powermatic 15" planer. Best I can tell, it is Model 15, Number M-0460213. I've found a belt number of #6284811 V-Belt M59 5GA-F46 (3L590). These are a series of numbers I've found on various websites. Can I standard V belt, if so what is the belt size (in inces) that would be comparable? Or, should I stick to oredering the belt through Ppowermatic?

Order the first one through Powermatic, then order any new replacements from the number on the belt. Or you can measure the pulley belt width and use a metal tape measure to find the total length by running the tape (number side in) over each pulley rim. Then order as a standard hardware source belt. Make sure the motor is bolted down about midway in it's mounting slots when measuring.

I hav a Powermatic model E16 planer, the motor has been changed to 1 phase 220 amp , the speed sees too slow, what speed should the cutters turn

If it's got the 3-3/4" three-knife cutterhead, it should run pretty near to 5000 RPM. If it's got the 1-7/8" two-knife cutterhead, it should run at nearly 10,000 RPM.

That planer should take a 3600 (3450) RPM motor.

The infeed roller is uneven and it snipes the boards

Sniping is common, try feeding waste stock in before or after your good wood, whichever end is getting sniped. The planer will not notice the end of your wood, and cut it flat.

Planer problems

If you're looking at the planer from the infeed side, there's a belt guard on the right side of the head. Remove it and check the condition of the drive belt. If it's broke the motor will spin without powering the cutterhead and feed rollers. The drive belt is still available as part number 22-563 on sites like http://servicenet.dewalt.com/ and www.ereplacementparts.com. Just put your model number in their search box and find the drive belt in the breakdown.

My powermatic 16 inch planer model 100 planer will not start. I tripped over the chord when it was running and it would not start after that.

when you tripped over the cored you might have broken the connection in the trigger. Take apart the trigger very carefully and make sure that the waires are not broken.

Have Powermatic Planer & can't get the infeed & outfeed rollers adjusted right. Takes all you have to operate it. 24" Planer less than 10 years old & probably doesn't have 200 hours total on...

The rollers may need to be reconditioned. Try cleaning with a solvent to soften them up. I hope this has been helpful please rate if this answer has been of any help. Good Luck and have a great weekend.
