Re: Can't transfer photos

I suggest you get a memory card reader for your PC or Mac, sometimes, the built-in card reader or USB mass storage function of your camera bugs out and causes your computer to freeze up, this is due to the driver probably messing up.

Having a separate card reader for your cameras memory card will be useful and fast when making backups of your photos, and seldom causes hang-ups. A memory card reader easily attaches to your USB or firewire port too...

No pictures on camera - yet getting "memory full" message

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs. After copying your photos to the computer, then you can delete the photos from the memory card using your computer.

Memory card is full and when I plug in the USB cord and turn on the camera I get a message that my device is not connected or is busy, or that it contains no pictures!!

Causes of memory card corruption
  • Turning off a camera before an image is completely written to the memory card.
  • Removing the memory card from a camera while an image is being written to the card.
  • Removing the card from a memory card reader while files are still being transferred to a computer.
  • Batteries conking out as files are being transfered directly from the camera to a computer. Note: always make sure you have fully charged batteries before transferring images.
  • Removing the card from a card reader while folders and files from the card are open on a computer.
  • Opening, deleting, renaming or moving files on the card while its contents are open on a computer.
  • Using a memory card which has not been formatted in the camera. Use the delete/erase function when needed, however a card should be regularly formatted.
  • Formatting a card in a computer instead of the camera.
  • Inserting a second memory card into a card reader before closing and removing the first when viewing images on the card from a computer.
  • Taking photos when camera batteries are nearly empty.
  • Taking photos too rapidly so the camera can not complete writing one image before starting the next.
  • Continually shooting and deleting, shooting and deleting images when the card is full.
  • Letting a memory card get too full before downloading the images to a computer or storage device. Cards that are too full may overwrite the card headers.
  • Using a memory card from one camera in a different camera without formatting it in the new camera first.

My pictures are in the camara memory not on the sd card I did down load the pictures to my computer but whow do i transfer to a sd to be able to printe also do I need to buy adobe photoshop?

In the camera menu is an entry for "copy". This gives you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card. You do not need to buy Photoshop unless you are an advanced photographer who spends 6 or 7 hours a day editing photos. Besides, it costs over $800. You could try Photoshop's only $99. Or, you could try some less expensive or even free photo editing software. It all depends on how serious you want to get into photo editing.

When I attempt to take a picture I receive this message on the screen: Memory Full Insert a memory card to transfer and take more photos. I have a memory card already inserted into the camara, and...

The camera only holds one picture, and that only until you turn the power off. To take and store pictures, you need a memory card. The 8025 uses SD and SDHC cards up to 8GB in size. These cards are available at just about any department, electronics, and office-supply stores.

Camera is M1033. Two relatively new batteries. Both have worked well. Now I get a brief message...internal memory is full. Then camera shuts off.

Connect the camera to your computer to transfer the photos onto your computer's hard drive. Then you should insert a memory card into the camera. With a memory card you should be able to and clear the internal memory and take more pictures.

I just inserted 4GB Memory card and took only one picture. I keep getting error message "Memory card is full, insert a SD Memory Card to Transfer and take more photos".

Is the manual, and you need to refer to pages 6 and 7.

If you still have problems, you should contact Vivitar support. This should not be a problem since the camera automatically switches to the SD card when inserted.

Follow the instructions on this page of the user guide. Also, make sure your new memory card is 2GB or smaller, the camera will not work with higher capacity cards.
