How do i recalibrate a nintendo ds screen?

if you take a toothbrush and wipe the edges of the screen with the bristles it might get rid of dirt that clog the senses.

Touch screen is all over the place on Nintendo DS Console

It may need to be recalibrated. If you already know exactly what I'm talking about, and have already tried, then this sometimes happens with the DS. If not, start your DS without a game in either of the slots. then when you get to the screen where it says pictochat, download play, and all the other stuff, look at the middle of the bottom of the bottom screen. Press the tiny DS there. then touch the recalibrate button. Then touch the things it tells you to touch. All these steps can be done with the buttons, but use the touch screen to recalibrate. Hope this helped.

I just got this ds lite and when you touch the left side of the touch it shows you are touching the middle of the screen. This is the 2nd ds that gave me this problem.

try recalibrating your touch screen.
go to the screen with the clock and calendar.
at the very bottom of the touch screen is a DS icon, select it.
next you'll get a screen with: a wrench, clock/calendar, person,a cross hair with a small square in the middle.
select the the cross hair with a small square in the middle.
the DSLite will walk you through recalibrating your touch screen.

hope this helps :D

Bottom screen is out of calibration. Tried to recalibrate, but does not help. any ideas?

Most likely what you need is a new digitizer (they sometimes begin malfunctioning in the fashion you've described). It's a clear surface above the screen that receives the touching inputs. Very cheap on ebay (you may want to find one that comes with a tri-wing screwdriver).
You can find plenty of video tutorials on how to do it on Youtube, but if you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Wont Clabirate At All Just Keeps On Going Continuously

Chances are, you have your calibration in such a way that your DS wants yout o try again to make sure that your calibrateing it right. Something set it way off probably so small adjustments to star *** back on the right calibration will do well. Hope I helped!

DS Lite bottom touchscreen seems "stuck"

i think you should either get a new ds or tap the touch screen hard. if tapping the touch sreen harder does not work then that means it is time for a new ds.

  1. Remove all games from the Nintendo DS Lite.

  2. Turn the system on by pressing the POWER switch.

  3. Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears.

  4. When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button.

  5. Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button.

  6. Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves.

    • You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start.
    • If the above steps did not help, there is a problem with the system and it will need to be repaired. Click here for repair options.

  7. When complete, four squares will appear, allowing users to test the touch screen sensitivity. (Testing is optional.) Tap the "Confirm" button in the lower-right corner.

  8. Wait for the the confirmation message to disappear, then tap "Quit," then "Yes" to exit. The unit will shut down automatically to save the settings.
