There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

HOW TO FIX A LEAKING REFRIGERATOR OR FREEZER
If you have more questions or need help feel free to let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze
    SEA BREEZE TIP's
Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan. Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slowly because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Or use a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. Flushing it out with hot water and Clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Bottom of freezer freezing up inside.Water on floor leaking from bottom of fridge

Does the rear of the freezer have room for the fan to circulate? If there is to much food in it and blocking air, all that moisture in the air condenses on thr food. If it don't stay froxen, it falls on the floor of the freezer. That's how I fixed mine.

The fridge keeps leaking water underneath, the freezer part keeps iceing up down the bottom under the draws, the water is the main problem.

Water in the drain overflowing can be the reason for the water spilling,it can be the defrost overflow or the leak from the evaporator tubing's to the drain. So drain off and check perhaps more condensation is the result of the overflow.
The icing can be related to water formation from the food or leak from the evaporator, high frosting can blow the water inside the freezer.
So set the freezer temp a little lower so that the freezer shuts off than to make it run continuously.

Hi,
your freezer has a freon leak and the leak would need to be found, fixed and recharged for it to work again...
this would cost more then a new freezer...

Top is frozen lower shelves food is dethawing

One of two things is going on here, either the door is not closing properly (or some one left it open), check the seal all the way around especially at the bottom.

Or most likely you have a refrigerant (freon) leak that has left the charge low enough that you are unable to get it to cool throughout. A leak on this type of unit is usually in the evaporator in the corner where a weld was made. The evaporator is about $189.00, with refrigerant a new drier and supplies I bet it would run about $450.00 to repair.

I have a Maytag side by side and water is leaking on the floor and I have a big build of ice on the bottom of the freezer. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Unplug the refrigerator.
Remove the food and shelves from the freezer side.
Carefully break up and dispose of the visible ice. There is a drain pan on the lower rear of the freezer. Defrost the ice in this pan with a hair dryer.
Once the ice is out of the pan the drain hole that goes through the bottom of the pan must also be defrosted.
After the drain hole is defrosted pour a mixture of 1/4 cup bleach and 1 and 3/4 cups hot water through the drain hole.

Kenmore Refridgerator leaking water into refridgerator compartment from freezer compartment

You most likely have a clogged drain. When you freezers goes into defrost every 8 to 10 hours. The frost that is melted during the defrost drains from the freezer either down through the fridge or out the back and down. Either way it drains into a pan under the fridge. This tube is either clogged or the drain it's self inside the freezer is. Most of the time I find peas stopping the water from draining from the freezer. When the water can't drain it leaks through the bottom of the freezer into the fresh food section of the fridge. You will need to fix this because it will cause other problems. The water that cant drain from the freezer refreezes and will end up destroying the foam in the bottom of the freezer. Water will also leak onto the controls located in the part between the freezer and fresh food section ruining you controls.

Freezer leaks water even after water supply turned off

Remove the food from the lower portion of the freezer and remove the 2 screws which hold the rear freezer panel on . Remove the panel and use a hair dryer to defrost the ice built up over the drain . Once you see the black drain hole , concentrate on defrosting the hole . Once defrosted , the ice water will drain into the hole . I would use a small hose inserted into the drain and blow thru , to remove any debris built up inside the drain . Reinstall the panel and food .

Water leaking from top to bottom

Refrigerators typically have vents for COLD freezer air to travel to the refrigerator side. Make sure you do not have these blocked with frozen foods, or ice. A good defrost of the freezer may be in order. (I just went through this one week ago).
If the cold air does not travel down to the fridge to keep it above dewpoint, moisture begins to form quickly.

Whirlpool Refrigerator(side by side) leaking water

First question would be is your ice machine leaking? If so then disable the ice machine until we can find the cause of leaks and repair them. Is the freezer freezing well? Food compartment temps OK?. Let me know and I will work to help you resolve this. Sea Breeze sea breezehvac@yahoo.com
