Sill supports for window air conditioner...no sills

I got a kenmore window air conditioner. i'm so confused there are these 2 small ''sill supports with 2 bolts that are to be adjusted up and down. I dont see anywhre these sill supports can fit. there is no window sill outside. i spent hours trying to figure this thing out and i'm not a dumb person by a long shot. the a/c did come with two long wodden L shaped pieces. I'm also confused when it says to drill into the sill...there is no sill? i don't get it and i'mso frustrated.

Ok do not worry...every unit comes with outside supports that allow you to tilt the uinit to the outside a little so the water discharge can leake outside and not inside your house...one support go in eachside under th eunit one side connect to the wall and the other side connect to the bottom of the unit...
the whole is need on the side you are going to let the water out...the unis discharge lots of water and need a way out and the hole is for that make suer it is on the back close to the corner and far away from any moving part.(I usually find a place under the fan that is if they do not have one pre-driled

How do i remove this from my wall i think there are screws but i cannot see them

The air conditioner won't likey be bolted to anything

It just sits in the window sill

It may be supported from outside, to take
the weight that over hangs out the window.

Keep in mind your asking a question over
the internet, to people who can not see the
task or really help you

Drainage occurs near the front of the unit, resulting in pools of water leaking onto my window sill. Unit is installed properly, there is no drain hole to direct water away from the insides of the walls...

The A/C unit should be tilted slightly to the rear and this will allow the water to leak to the outside of the window, you may have to drill a small hole in the case to drain if there is no pre-existing hole.

WATER LEAKS FROM ALL OVER ON THE BOTTOM OF AIR CONDITIONER.WITH THE WINDOWS I HAVE, I CANNOT TIP A/C TO DRAIN OUTSIDE.WITH THE WINDOWS I HAVE, IT JUST UPRIGHT IN THE WINDOW. IT ALSO ICES UP A LOT. THANK...

Air conditioners MUST be tilted to drain. If not, they will drain into the room. Try shimming up the inside of the window sill with a few thin boards. The ice problem is either because it can't drain or, it is too small for the area being cooled.

What are the measurement on kenmore airconditioner model #580.72056

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Your air conditioner will install into standard double
hung windows with actual clear opening widths of
22 to 36 inches (558mm to 914mm) (FIG. 1).
Lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear
vertical opening of 14 inches (356mm). Side louvers
and the rear of the air conditioner must have clear
air space to allow enough airflow through the
condenser for heat removal. The rear of the unit
must be outdoors, not inside a building or garage.

This came from sears.com

Have no outside window sill to support

Purchase an "L" shaped shelf bracket (heavy duty of course) and fasten it to the outside wall under the window. You should be able to now use the support bracket against it. You can even get special plant hangers that will serve the same purpose. I have seen many people do this and it seems to solve the problem!

Window Air Conditioner Sweats

You need to seal the portion of the air conditioner that is inside the window from the portion that is outside the window, Sweating is caused by moist outside air leaking in and contacting the cold portion of the air conditioner. Do not use duct tape, buy aluminum tape which is what professionals use to seal air leaks on ducts. Home Depot sells the tape. Buy the smallest quantity you can find that will do the job ( it can be expensive ) unless you plan to go into air conditioning duct installation.

For best results use some form of insulation over the accordian like side baffles ( cut to fit) . Styrafoam from packaging or silver backed insulboard (Home Depot). Now tape the sides of the insulation to all sides of the window frame, bottom of the window, the sill, and the air conditioner.

Unless you enjoy doing this every year - plan on this being a permanent installation. It is a tedious job because the aluminum tape is not very forgiving and has a peel off backing but it sticks forever.

Installing room airconditioner

what i did was buy a 2x6 cut them all into about 18 inches in length screwed one piece onto the window sill and the other 3 i screwed into that piece going out the window so the a/c unit sits on the wood pieces and clears the window sill that way i dont have to worry about the a/c unit weight on the window it was all on the wood pieces sticking out
