Question about LG Flatron L1811S 18.1" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Bright screen with very low contrast

A LG Flatron L1811S that I bought is very weird. It displays everything very light in colour and the contrast is very bad especially between light colours. I have gone through the menu and but the brightness and contrast to 50 and in the colour menu, I am using the 9300K setting (I have tried all the other setting including manual colour settings)
The connection that I am using is D-sub at 1024*768 and 32bit colour

Re: Bright screen with very low contrast

I fixed it myself, it seems that the monitor have some problems remembering it's settings and sometimes it automatically set its settings to crazy values that are out of the range that we are allowed to input. For my case, the setting that was crazy was the gamma setting since it was set so high. I wasn't able to bring it back to a normal setting so I found a way to do it by resetting the monitor. So to reset these display settings such as colour, contrast, brightness and gama, you need to turn on the monitor and unplug the monitor without turning it off and plug it back in again. It will automatically power on and the correct default settings will be present.

Hi there, We have a LG Flatron W2253TQ monitor and the display is half normal, half very bright. There's a perfect line down the middle - the left half displays normal colours while the right half...

It could be some sort of "Demo" mode on the display, try going into the menu of the display and looking for settings relating to Flatron F-Engine, it has a demo mode that could be the problem. That is the most likely cause since its exactly half the screen.

Everythings turned red on screen ive fiddled with all the settings and it wont change back to normal

If you are getting red casting on the whole screen, then you should check the VGA cable and all the pins at both ends of the cable, also make they are seated properly..

Screen is now a weird color

The problem might be in the cable. Try to reconnect it to your machine. Also try to set your color settings on the monitor itself, so that all the colors are equal.

The supplied software should allow you to set brightness and contrast if there are no front panel buttons to set it.
Check for LG or Flatron programs under the Programs listing available from the Start panel.
