Oven gas will not turn on to bake or briol - Frigidaire Kitchen Ranges

The range burners are working fine. Just the oven and broiler gas will not come on. I thought there was only one gas valve. Is there a seperate valve for the oven? If so where would it be located? Could the gas valve been sabatoged by the previous tennant and shut off some way?

Have you replaced the gas valve yet? that is almost always the issue in a case like this, you can order a gas valve from this site but unless you are skilled at this type of repair it is best left to a professional as there is an explosion danger if you do it wrong and it leaks. if you still want to do the job go to this link and provide model info to order parts.

pull the range away from the wall and remove back panel and then just follow the gas supply line to the valve.

Baking & broiling elements won't heat after baking element burned out and was replaced.

the surge from the original element burning out has destroyed the control board if you can't hear the relays on the board clicking when you power up the elements bake or broil then its either the low voltage side of the board,if you hear clicking then the relays are working but the contacts are burned out and can't pass the current to heat the oven or briol elements

Hi there, We have a Fidigaire Gallery electric stove and the oven does not heat up. We press thej"Bake" button followed by the up arrow to set the tempurature but the oven will not heat up. The...

well... have a volt meter?
Are the bake and broil coils the same?
If so, you can swap them to see if the broiler element glows in the bake position... if so then the element is NFG... to proove that put the bake element in the broil position and fire up the briol function... it should not heat up...
Usually the MFG. intentionally makes the elements with a different offset, so you cannot mix them up...

that's what the meter is for... unplug the element, and put the probes in the socket.
You will be reading 220 Volts, so be XTRA careful... if no 220 then the Module that controls the relay to activate the element connector is not working correctly... so you have to sorts test both ways...
Just be careful...

Not heating, oven not burning gas

Here's one quick thing to check: Look at the appliance regulator where the gas line hooks up to the back of the unit. Some have a small lever on it that cuts off the gas to just the oven. It may be closed. Open position would be lever sticking out, perpendicular from regulator.

My oven take forever to preheat

Your bake element is probably open. When this happens the broil element may heat slightly when in BAKE mode and that is where your heat is coming from. First thing I would check is the connections to the bake element as well as the element itsef.

Good luck!

My oven take to long to preheat

The bake element is probably defective or has a burned wire on one of the ends.

Top oven bake igniter comes on, but gas does not.

Check the voltage on the 2 wires going to the oven gas valve. If you get 120v when the ignitor is on with no gas coming out, you have a bad gas valve. If you get voltage, but it is not much, it is the ignitor. The ignitors don't burn out completely on the ovens, they just get a little dim and no longer ignite the gas and eventually will not turn on the gas valve
