There are a couple different causes for this. The brushes could be worn out indicating needs rebuilt the switch could possibly be bad or the light could have just malfunctioned. What is the model number and I will try and help or you can go to and type in the number or call their toll free number at 1-800-879-8000 for assistance Let me know if I can be of further assistance and if H have answered your question please rate this response accordingly and thank you.

How to tell iff batteries are uselss or need replacing or charger or drill itself

The first thing to do is get your volt meter and check if there is any voltage coming from the battery and compare that to what it is stopped to be. If the voltage is ok, install the battery in the drill and try to run it. If it won't run, you've got a bad drill. Next install the battery in the charger and plug the charger into your wall outlet. There should be an LED which flashes to indicate that it is charging. If you can get a full charge on the battery (verify this with your volt meter), try it in the dill again. If the drill will not rotate, there is definitely a problem with the drill.

Chuck broken

Just happened to me. Oil the chuck and let it sit and soak. Very gently, put the dril into a vice to secure it. With a pair of adjustable pliers (somthing that you can get a good grip with) attempt to work the chuck free. It works but just be gentle so you dont break anything
