Question about IBM (01K9845) 145-Watt Power Supply
Power supply fan doesn't come on so i assume the power supply is bad. It would boot to Windows start up but never open windows. Think more could be damaged or would replacement power supply be good investment?
Mtn texas , If you PSU cooling fan is not working it could be just the fan. However based on the other facts you have a failing power supply.. Its not dead completely yet but it will be. If you want to contact me direct my email is email@example.com... I am a certified Tech and run my own computer repiar business.

If you have a lot of time to fix your PSU and have a knowledge in soldering, you can unscrew it check for the burned electronics component inside and replace it exact value of d component. then check fan wire connection if it attached or still working.
