HELP ME with this problem!!!!please

on the display panel of my machine, it says there is something
:open:

but nothing is wrong that I can tell...the machine will not come on or brew. what am i doing wrong:>>???? I have cleaned every part of it that i know about, and we havent used it but a few times.

i had that happen to me. turns out the filter cover (flat plastic circle with a rectangular hole) wasn't seated correctly.
