Most times this seems to be a problem with the electrical connections to the cartridge. A q tip moistened with water or denatured alcohol can be used to CAREFULLY clean the contacts on the cartridge and the carriage , being especially careful not to hook or damage the contacts in the carriage. See the link below.
Assuming you have a refilled or remanufactured cartridge there this is actually pretty normal. These cartridges have no means of checking for new ink in the cartridge so will continue to warn of empty. They will not however stop you from printing as a result.
If however you purchased the cartridge as a brand new cartridge, you may have been miss-sold the cartridge. In which case I would advise speaking to whoever it was purchased from.
This error message usually happen if the cartridge is not properly seated or the copper-colored electrical contacts have problem. Check this website for proper cleaning and installing ink cartridge. If the problem is resolve try replacing the ink cartridges.
This is because printer and scanner are connected together. The printer need both cartridges installed to initialized and then initialized the scanner.Just put the missing cartridge and problem will solve.
Well, I'm sorry but the printer folks all hold us up on the ink cartridge rip off! Nothing you can do but buy the cartridge and pay the price. But you may be able to refill it, I've had some luck in this department but it's far better to just buy one. The machine won't continue to print with just the black cartridge...it uses some color ink to print a black and white copy. I really don't understand why someone can't build a sturdy printer with refillable ink that will operate for pennies and be make of metal so it won't break....! You might look around at some of the stores will sell you a new printer with ink for about the price of the cartridge.
If you have purchased the printer with the ink cartridge then insert the ink cartridges with the GOLD(contacts) facing towards the printer. If you are replacing the ink cartridges, then you must make sure that cartridge numbers are the same as the empty ones.
