You've got an air leak somewhere---probably a hole in the diaphragm.

What is Wrong With a Stihl FS90R Trimmer When The Primer Bulb Won't Fully Fill After Priming?

1) check valves inside the primer plate is sticking
2) fuel pump diaphragm is varnished and flaps are sticking to the body of the carb
3) the cost of parts and time spent are more than a new carb
4) new carbs are updated versions and have updated ethanol resistant components
** suggest a new carb, it will solve several performance issues

Primer bulb seems to be pumping but no gas. Tank is full

Rick, the primer bulb orifice is probably plugged in carburetor and the carb. will have to come apart to clean and inspect, at this point you had might as well get the diaphragm rebuild kit and rebuild the carb.

04 Honda Rubicon Foreman 500.I took apart the carburetor/cleaned it because of old gas. When I reassembled it it now only runs at half throttle even the throttle is depressed fully. Help!

the diaphragm in the top of the carburettor sounds like it is not lifting the slide up.i would say either the spring in there is jammed up or bent over or the rubber diaphragm itself is not sealed around the top of the carb properly ,you should assemble it by using red rubber grease to stick the diaphragm into the groove in the top of the carb.

I changed all of the carb gaskets, fuel lines, even the rubber piece the lines go into the gas tank. Now when I try to prime the carb for start up it seems the gas is being pushed into the tank and not...

The leak at the fuel tank is not related. Sorry. What you have is a blockage in the carb itself. Take it back off, take it apart and carefully clean all the orifices. In the plate under the primer bulb, there is a one way valve. Make sure it is clean, use aerosol carb cleaner and spray thru the valve. Remove the locks from the adjustment screws and remove the jets one at a time and blow carb spray thru them also. If you did not replace the strainer screen before, replace it now. It is located under the plate nearest to the fuel inlet. When reassemble, make sure the gaskets are in the same order as the originals. Diaphragm side...paper gasket against the carb body, then diaphragm. On the inlet side, thin cellophane first, then the thicker gasket, then the outer plate. The adjustment screws should be turned out 1.5 to 2.0 turns.
Good luck!

No gas to carb

There should not be a vent hose--it probably goes to a port on the primer bulb. Check the fuel filter for plugging and the condition of all fuel lines (they should be original rubber, not plastic replacements). Try priming the carburetor with the bulb pump--it should pull fuel into the bulb after several pushes. If nothing, check the condition of the primer bulb--it should be soft without cracks or holes. The primer is supposed to pull fuel from the tank's fuel filter, into the carburetor top section, pass into the lower section through the metering valve which is controlled by the diaphragm, then out to the input port of the primer and out the other primer port to return fuel to the tank. Go to: for an excellent 12 page article on theory and troubleshooting of Walbro carburetors. Hope this helps!

No gas when you prime it

1) Check fuel lines from tank for cracks, fuel filter in tank, primer bulb for cracks

2)Remove Carburetor
replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

The toro will start and run for 2 seconds then quit. We took apart the air filter and cleaned the gas line as well as cleaned the plug. No improvement. Thought it may have been bad gas or a plugged gas...

I am not sure what type of carb you have so I will give you a couple of ideas.
1. If the carb is one of the plastic ones that attaches directly to the gas tank take of the air cleaner and press the primer bulb. If you get a spurt of gas and not a stream of gas get a new diaphragm for the carb. It goes between the tank and the carb.
2. If there is a sediment bulb hooked to the carb drain the gas from tank and then carefully remove the sediment bulb and clean it.
3. If there is a sediment bulb hooked to the carb and a flat paper air filter attached to the sediment bulb via a plastic air filter holder with a primer bulb built into the air filter holder replace the gasket between filter cover and sediment bulb.

good luck
let me know if this works.

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.

Replace the fuel filter. Sounds like you have the primer lines hooked up backwards.
