Question about Sylvania 6720FDD 20 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo

1 Answer

The action description for the visually impaired is on when I try to watch videos. Don't know how to get rid of it. Is it a TV or VCR problem? It's an old Sylvania TV and an old Electrohome VCR

Problem solved. It was the video tapes themselves..they turned out to be from a special section for the visually impaired. I got used to it and watched them anyway. :-)

How do I turn off the visually impaired voice on my Vizio TV?

One way, (maybe not the best) is if you turn your TV off, the voice should turn off also. Another way is to mute, a visually impaired voice is just the volume on you TV, or do you mean hearing impaired?

How do I get rid of the voice over on some programmes on my LG 47LF6 model tv?

It sounds like you are talking about "described video". Does your signal come through a set top box before going the TV or is the cable hooked directly with the TV? If going through a set top box first, you need to change the setting in the set top box.

Want to remove voiceover on tv programmes

Turn off Descriptive Video Service (DVS) for the blind or visually impaired, available via audio sound button on your remote or in iteractive menu. This is different to show subtitles.

Lg tv fault finding

You are listening to DVS (Descriptive Video Service), for the visually impaired. I assume this is on over-the-air television. Your remote control probably has a button marked "Audio" or "SAP" (Separate Audio Program). This is so you can listen to different audio channels, which usually have another language, or in your case DVS. If it is not a button on the remote, you may have to go in to the TV's menu to find it. Depending on the TV, this setting could affect all channels, but on many TVs the setting can be different for individual channels or subchannels.

If this is NOT over-the-air TV, it could be your cable or satellite box, or DVD/Blu-ray player.

No movie picture

If you want to record from cable to your vcr the usual configuration is either cable to cable box, cable box to vcr, and vcr to tv. If you want to get rid of the snowy pictures, you can plug the cable box directly to the tv and separately to the vcr, and you can also plug the vcr into the tv. but the tv has to have two inputs
the best configuration will be the black, screw in, coaxial cable from the cable box to the television and the red, white and yellow RCA plugs from the cable box to the vcr in.
then the vcr our red whit and yellow cables to the back of the tv.
To watch vcr, switch the tv to video mode
to watch cable, switch tv to channel 3 or 4, depending on the cable service.
please let me know if you have questions.

Sanyo TV

Hi,

If I understand your posting/description right, you have:
1, a Sanyo TV with only 1 video input;
2. you have a DVD player with only video output; and
3. you have a VCR (which I will assume to be with both video input and output).

Your query, if I may clarify, is how to hook them up so that you need not connect/disconnect any video cable when you want to switch video source from either DVD or VCR.

If that is what you want, then connect:
a. audio/video OUT of your DVD to audio/video IN of the VCR;
b. audio/video OUT of your VCR to audio/video IN of the TV.

The above described connection would allow you to:
i. watch DVD movies on your TV (your VCR must be powered ON and set to Video INput, your TV must be powered ON & set to Video INput);
ii. watch tape movies from your VCR without disconnecting/connecting cables.

Additionally, this arrangement would allow you to record DVD movies in your VCR. Further, connecting your cable/aerial to the RF INput of your VCR would allow you to do the same with a TV/Cable program.

Incidentally, if one of your units (TV, VCR, DVD) would only have a single audio input, it is still possible since some models uses the white audio RCA connector as either left or mono, the red is right. You can also use a 2 female RCA to 1 RCA male adapter as shown below to joint the red/white audio.

Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned out or should you require additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
