Hi,
This problem may happen due to corrupted file system/ missing system file/ registry error/ virus. Most of this problem can be fixed automatically by windows. Just try booting up your system in safe mode. For entering into safe mode, press F8 key after restarting your machine but before your windows loads. it will display a menu. select safe mode and boot it. In safe mode, right click on the drives and in properties -> system tools select scan disk and allow them to fix file system errors automatically. you have to restart your system. I hope this will solve your problem and its helpful to you

Shut your computer all the way down. As soon as you turn it on, start hitting F8 about 3-4 times, that will take you to an advanced options menu. Select "Last known good configuration" and that should work

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

    Error Code

All you can do is Reinstall windows. You should get the Windows Vista Installation CD with your laptop and all you have to do is put it in and restart your computer and when the message that says "Press any key to boot from CD" press a key.

If it doesn't show up, you may have to press a key like DEL or F12 to get the boot sequencer. When you first turn on the computer you should see the Compaq logo. At the bottom of the screen you should see some buttons to press to do things like BIOS and Boot Sequence. You want Boot Sequence. Once in boot sequence, select the CD-DVD and press any key when it says to.

Once in follow instructions or oyu can reply and i will tell you how to install.
