Make sure that the drain hose does not have a restriction.Sometimes the hose is blocked with old food that is to large to get out.Also. try removeing the hose from its drain connection under your sink.Have a empty bucket to catch the water. And rags. Where the hose connects make sure its not blocked at the sink.If the drainage way is totally cleaned out and it still does not work good then its possible that the water pump in the washers is weak. I hope this helps you.

Frigidaire 24' doesnot clean the dishes after complete wash cycle. sometimes it seems as if the top rack does'nt even get wet please advise

ron singh, Have you just moved in to this home? I recently had this same problem.is your water from a well? or is the city water from a well.I just moved from the big city to a smaller suburb out the city. The water in the new place is extremely hard. all of our silverware and glasses had a coating on them. The heated dry cycle made even worse. we had to install a water softener for the whole house. This also helped in the showers and washing machine. The film will go away after softener is installed. There is nothing wrong with the dishwasher.
Hope this helpsJoe Connolly

Please help! I just moved into a new house where the Frigidaire dishwasher worked great for 2 weeks. Now, it's leaving hard salt-like granules all over my dishes and not rinsing all the food off. ...

Your dishwasher has clogged water ports.
Start the dishwasher with NO dishes in it.
Once it starts the wash cycle, open the door and pour in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle.
That should clear out the residue.
Change your dishwasher soap to the FINISH brand name for happy clean dishes.

It MIGHT be a bad "impeller". This is a little propeller-like device that chops up chunks of food and in some cases performs part of the pumping action of the water. Not an expensive part, but sometimes a pain to replace.

You need to take the spray arm off of the bottom and get down to the filter: there's probably food trapped in the filter somewhere, not able to drain out and it keeps recycling onto the dishes at each cycle. Good luck!

Crusty stuff on glasses after wash cycle

I never figured out what caused this problem. I cleaned it and took it all apart, could not find any debris lodged anywhere. However, I solved this problem! I now only use Cascade Complete dishwasher detergent. Has to be the "complete" version of Cascade. No more grit - nice clean dishes now and sparkling glasses.

If your dishwasher is cleaning poorly, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Internal filters
Drain valve
Spray arms
Water temperature
Detergent cup
Water-inlet valve Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

When a water-inlet valve is defective, you may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it.

Be sure to read and understand any instructions that come with the new water inlet valve.
