I have a 4 burner Jenn-Air JED8430ADB electric radiant heat stove that has recently stopped working. It has been installed for many years (came with the house) and worked fine until now. When I turn one...

The cook top is connected to 220 volts. In the house wiring there are two legs each 115 volts. Usually they connect with a red wire, black wire and the third a neutral. It is likely that at the connection to the unit or at the electrical box a connection has failed or the 220 volt circuit breaker has failed on one leg. A qualified electrician needs to do the repair!

I need the wiring diagram and plug/receptacle specs for kenmore electric cooktp 42732

I believe that if you look on the name plate for the unit , it says that you will need a 30 amp, 220 volt supply circuit . This would be a two pole , 30 amp breaker , a run of # 10-3 cable with ground, and a junction box at the stove top location to make the splices. If you are going to use a plug connection, then a 30 amp 4 wire dryer outlet will give you the connection you need .

How to install a 208v outlet for a stove

if its a single phase panel you will only have 120/240 v.a.c. you can wire it for 240 volts and it will heat faster anyway the only way you could have 208 volts would be if you had 3 phase delta or open delta 3 phase or buy a special "dry-type" transformer for 240 volt to 208 volt step-down,otherwise it will be red-& black will be your 2 hot phases of 120 volts each/white-neutral/and green or green-yellow will be the case safety ground

L1 and L2 connect to the black and red. White connects to White. Green connects to the electrical box if it is made of steel and is grounded. Otherwise the green connects to the whites

I took out an old cooktop which only has the black, white and ground wires. The jennair cooktop with 5 electric elements has black, red, white and ground. how do i connect these together.

sounds like the old one is 110 volts , and the new one is 220 volts. incompatable, as the 220 ones would work, but at half power if you didnt use the red wire. might work fine. omit the red wire and wee what happens

Jenn air jed 8430 electric cooktop control switch for rear burner

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.

Burners not working but fan is

Are you sure that is the proper wire from the wall? What you are describing is a 110 volt circuit. THis cooktop should be connected with at least #10 wire and fused at 30 amps. You should have black red and at least white with possible bare ground wire. Assuming somebody used the wrong wire during original install job, you have it connected right. Please replace with heavier wire if it is not #10 Or at least make sure it is fused at no more than 20 amps if smaller wire. (You may sometimes blow circuit breaker if all burners are used on high at once) Use a volt meter and check voltage. If this is a 220 volt circuit you should have 220 volts between black and white and 110 volts from either one to bare ground wire.

Wiring installation

You do need a 208/240 volt supply from your service panel. The green is ground, white is nuetral, and the red and black should measure 120 volts each to ground or 240/208 between each other. It is normal for most breaker panels to supply 208/240 between adjacent insulators. If you are only getting 1/2 of that then the circuit breaker may not be straddling the insulator bar but be 1/2 notch out and both breaker pins contacting the same 110 supply.
