Question about JVC GR-AXM25 Camcorder
Over the weekend, while trying to record, the display message said something about running a leaning cassette. So I went an bought one, but it did not work. When I play a tape, is has a series of black stripes, horizontal across the screen. The unit is just over a year old, and not used much at all. We take good care of it, keeping it out of extreme conditions and never wet. Do you have any suggestions? When trying to record all you can see is horizontal greyish-black bars on the screen. It can play old tapes and it's displayed on the screen just fine, but the newly recorded images play as the horizontal bars.

This is a common(ish) problem on the JVC models. In most cases running the cleaning cassette will work. If it does not work the first time try it a second time. Make sure you follow the instructions as provided by the manufacturer for the use of your cassette and any cleaning solutions involved. Use them in conjunction with camera's information.
