The pins next to the cmos battery? there are three with a plastic sleave over two of them, is that them?

  • gareth_1979 Sep 07, 2009

the only pins that i think you mean are set next to the cmos battery. three pins two arched together with a sleave with meatal conductor inside it tried that did not work. i've searched the board throughly and can't find anything with CMOs written on it?

No 115 would not blow the power supply it would just provide less power. Look at the motherboard for pins that say CMOS on them. Move the small plastic piece on top of the CLR pins and then count to 30. Once you have move them back and then test the machine.

No not the battery right underneath them it will say cmos you may need a magnifying glass to see the letters. It is usually is a set of 3 or 4 pins.

I see you gave me a 1 thumbs up or inappropriate rating I'm sorry but I gave you adequate advice and a solution that works for most machines. Since it didn't their are three possible problems that is that either the power button, the power supply, or the motherboard needs to be replaced. The way to test each is with a known good one.

Pc doesn't start up

If nothing happens at all it sounds like a power problem, check the fuse in the mains plug, check for an on/off switch on the back of the computer, if neither of these are your problem then it may be a faulty power supply or simply a faulty switch on the front. Hope this helps.

Dishwasher won't start. The Quick Rinse light is blinking on the front panel. I pressed every button but nothing happens.

The light blinking indicates that the program is ready to start but has not received the go signal from the Start / Stop b utton as the switch is probably faulty.
Try to reset the machine by disconnecting the mains power, waiting at least 10 seconds and then reconnecting. Try to start the machine in the normal way and if it still will not start then it means that the switck control is faulty or the control unit has a fault.
Yo will probably have to call a dishwasher technician to rectify the problem.

System turns on however hard drive will not cycle nor will mouse or key board activate

Turn power off and unplug power from computer.
Unplug printers,backup drives and speakers.
Open case and unplug power supply from the board.
plug power cord back in press the power button.
Of course nothing will happen.
unplug power cord again.
plug power supply back into the board.
plug power cord backup and press power switch.
If nothing happens unplug power cord again.
pull out your memory sticks and plug cord back in and press power button.
Of course not much will happen.
But really something is happening to your computer so continue.
Pull power cord and replace memory sticks.
replace power cord and press power switch.
Continue this pulling out pci cards one at a time until you find out what the problem might be.
Try different keyboards and mice too.
Good Luck
