Not efficiently picking up anything, suction seems to be low

It has been in my closet for years...because it is practically brand new...had another vacuum so did not get this one fiixed..now other one is gone..so I only used it for a few months and then it just wasn't picking up very well...I tried to clean it and make sure everything was connected properly. I know it should be alot stronger seems like the power and suction are both off..hard to explain. Can't believe something is wrong with the motor because it was hardly used...unless I got a bad vacuum sto start off with and just didn't know it...could I have vacuumed up something that could cause a defect in the motor? Please if you have any suggestions would apprecaite it...trying to look for a panasonic dealer in the meantime...

In my experience, you have a clog somewhere between the floor and the bag or what ever catches the dirt. Push something through all hoses. Look at all filters. Try running the machine (outside) while it is open to check the vaccum power.

Why is there NO Suction from brand new Fantom?

some brands have a small plastic piece that slides across the tube/handle and if it is in the wrong position there is no suction to the tube /handle .. Have you thought to call the manufacturer for tech support or warranty .

Lost suction

TOSS IT and forget it! I have never used a hand vac that worked that was worth the effort of turning it on .... I suggest they are all junk ... I found very few vacuum cleaners ... actually **** especially anything made by dirt devil ... I do have a bagless Bissell 6579-2 that I purchased 4 years ago at walmart for $49 ... It outperforms any vacuum I've ever used, including my worthless Shop-Vac that I paid a lot more for ... this Bissell vac SUCKS ... It could **** the barnacles from a steamship!

Weak suction on rainbow se vacuum

Check for clogs in the nozzle air passages (remove bottom plate)
Check for clogs in the wand
Check for clogs in the hose (trow in a pebble or a penny and see if it comes out the other end)
Make sure separator is clean.
Remove exhaust cap (sometimes there is a sponge in the cap that gets disty and does not let the air pass through).Have in mind that it will not pick up well if the suction and the belt is good but brush roll bristles are worn and too short.

Good Luck,
Rocky

Getting no suction

Check the hose for a clog, when suction is low, you will usually find a clog in the hose or in the dirt inlet by the brush roll. If this is less then a year old, then it is still in warranty, if you can't figure it out, then take it and proof of purchase to a warranty repair shop.

Low suction

Is the water seal in place or missing? Another cause would be a bad motor, running at a slower speed will mean low suction. If it is a motor, then you would have to replace it. Is the suction low at machine without the hose, if it is ok then may be a clog in the hose.

Vacuum seems to have a problem

Take off the bottom plate and check the inlet to see if it is clogged and make sure the belt is ok. If no clog there, then it is in the hose. If you can't figure it out and is less then 1 year old, then it is under warranty, take it in for repair along with your proff of purchase.

Rainbow D3C Low suction

You might check the carbon brushes on the motor, it could be that the motor is not running fast enough, which would mean replacing the motor. With the hose off, do you have good suction where the motor goes into the vac? If it is good there, then either the powerhead isn't working or the hose is clogged.

Your belts are worn out. These belts should be replaced once a year.
