Question about Frigidaire Dryers

Frigidaire Dryer Drum Making Noise When Turning

Hi, I have a frigidaire electric dryer. Model FER231CAS2. It is an ordinary dryer. Nothing fancy. I've had it for 5 years now. When the drum turns it makes a cranking noise. I thought it was the belt at first. So I followed the instructions that I found here and was able to take the belt off and look at the pulley. they both look fine. Upon taking the drum out, I saw that there is a circular spring that is the diameter of the drum itself all the way in the back and this was broken in many places. I can't figure out what its called, nor where to order it. I'm in Toronto, Canada.
All help is appreciated.

My frigidaire fer231cas2 makes a horrible loud GRINDING noise after its been running for 10 or so mins

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that you have changed multiple parts within your Frigidaire dryer due to a grinding noise. Since you have changed the bearing cup, felt, pulley, and belt I would recommend having a technician come out to diagnose your appliance to avoid any further unnecessary part purchases. You could be seeing an issue within the drum or motor. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

There are rollers that the drum sits on. The roller surface or bearing can go bad causing the noise.

Drum makes loud banging noise.

Maybe the heat in your dryer over time has melted weak glue and loose components are hitting against the drum

Make Frigidaire dryer model Gleq2152es1 is making a loud sqealing noise and the clothes getting hung in top of dryer.

mostly the noise your hearing is the drum running on the side of machine .the baering/bearings have collapsed in your drier . Most driers these days have the bearing encased in the outer drum and i mean molded to the outer drum . You cant replace them and the manufacturer doesn`t really want you to . Sorry about that = looks like a new drier for you .
