Gateway Notebook enter key came off

The enter key came off. I have all the pieces but think that the plastic x piece may be broken. Can you please provide me with a diagram of how it should look and how to reattach?

It doesn't make any sense trying to repair the keyboard when a key breaks. You should contact Gateway at
http://support.gateway.com/support/?cmpid=topnav
and get a replacement keyboard. The replacement is relatively simple and the Gateway support site should help in understanding the steps for replacement.

Replace keyboard on acer 8100 series laptop

Replace the inside of the keyboard with a new piece. One of the major problems with Dell keyboards is that the plastic pieces holding the keys in place become loose or broken. You can find a cheap keyboard from Papatek.com or an electronics store. Simply take apart the new keyboard, pull the keys off your keyboard, lay the plastic piece on top and replace your keys.

Gateway m-7301u 15.4 widescreen keyboard problem

The keyboard would need to be replaced because once the plastic tactiles are messed around with they loose there shape plus the metal pieces that the plastic tactiles stay on get bent as well which means the keys won't stay on as well and stay looser then normal, thats why its suggested to get a new keyboard.

Gateway 450sx no power

Needs physical repair. No help without some new parts. The "little piece" latch is necessary. The bay thinks there is a device there and there isn't. The POST (Power On Self Test) program won't allow it to startup if a device is missing.

Gateway 400SD4 LCD Cable #DD00A6LC609

Remove the screen by taking the plastic cover around the screen off, the screws are hidden behind the small rubber bumpers. Once the plastic is off, there will be four screws holding the screen in place, remove those and the screen will pull forward, then you will see where the lcd ribbon connects to the screen. Disconnect it and set it to the side. Now you will need to remove the plastic piece at the top of the keyboard in order to get to where the ribbon connects to the board. You may need to remove the keyboard in order to remove this piece, and there may or may not be screws holding this piece in place. Pay close attention and go slowly, these should come apart rather easily unless there is a screw holding them.
