Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8 Digital Camera

None of my SD cards (I have 4) will work with my panasonic lumix

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 won't recognize my SD cards. The camera reads "card error" and will not let me access the menu to reformat. I bought a card reader and erased the SD cards but the camera will still not recognize the clean cards. What can I do to get my SD cards back in working order with my camera?

I can't. It won't let me get into the set up menu. I have to figure out some way to reformat for the camera from my computer using my card reader/writer. How can I do that?

This camera uses the SD standard - not SD HC.
Be sure you are using a compatible card!
The highest capacity mentioned in the manual is 1GB althought the SD stanard supports up to 4GB.

Go into the setup menu and do a "reset". Make sure the contacts on the card are clean and the switch on the side is in the unlocked position.

Try a manual reset...remove the card and battery. Press all the buttons. Insert the card and then the battery. Turn the camera on.

I have a panasonic lumix DMC-FZ20 camera that i installed an 8g memory card but it says memory card error

The DMC-FZ20 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card, which fits into the slot but is electronically incompatible.

I have a panasonic Lumix dmc fz20....which I absolutely love....but I can not download picture from my camera to my computer from my sd carddo not have software lost cd during movehave new computer...can...

Hi,
I have the same camera but its lens zoom assembly is broken and now does 'nt work. However, I never needed any cd to down load from sd card to either Laptop or Tv. Lap top has the sd card slot failing which you could use an sd card adapter(can give it to you free if you are in delhi) with usb connector to connect to your computer which may help in downloading.Alternatively, a a usb cable connector from camera to computer should also do.All the best.kkkatiyar@hotmail.com katiyar@hotmail.com

The 8GB card is SDHC, the FZ20 does not support SDHC only standard SD.

DO NOT go for 4GB and beyond. I had purchased a 4GB SD Card but my DMCFZ20 camera did not support it. It has worked fine with 2 GB.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 SD Card Reading Issue

Plug you camera into USB. Go to My Computer and find a drive device named External Drive or USB Storage etc. Click on this and you should see a folder named DCIM (digital camera EXIF standard Digital Camera IMage folder. This is your cameras memory card.

Click on this and find a subfolder(s) named according to manufacture. For Panasonic it would be 100_PANA or maybe 101_PANA. These are you picture folders. Click on one to find pictures. Drag and Drop folder to computer to download them.
