Question about JVC Video Cameras
I have a JVC HD 100u. I was shooting a couple of days ago and ran the camera until the battery went dead. After I changed to a new battery and turned on the camera, "warning 3300 unloading failure" started flashing. Once I tried to take the tape out, it started to open but stopped. If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: camcorder tape door opening
I had a problem the same as yours and I found the problem on the ribbon wire connected to the board where all the control button is located ( stop, rew, play, fwd pause). The problem occur because everytime you eject the tape from the loading mechanism the ribbon wire also move like your cutting it into pieces. sorry for my english hope you get the idea.... wait for the photo and i'll show you what i mean.. hope this will give you the solution you need.

E-5 is a "reel lock" error. This means that one or both of the reels that move the tape through the deck have stopped turning and are not sending a feedback signal to the system control cpu. This deck does use a drive belt, and has a clutch mechanism to transmit power to the reels. Check the belt and clutch for wear (the belt has a tensioner; the tension screw may be loose.).

SOURCE: Lens stuck open
hey, I had the same problem when I accidentally droped my camera, some parts in the mechanism are probably broken or jammed.
Most likely repairs required.

Hello Bob92116 & PenName,
Camcoder needs lapping of video head, because it became dirty and this can be done at nearest Sony repair shop. I think it doesn't cost much.
In my point of view, reason of this clogged head is your Old Tapes having enough amount of dirt on tape.
