Re: maytag pyeg4500 no power

The thermal cut-out is located on the right side of the heater unit. This will kill your power. Change the t-stat also and check that your vent system is clear.

Stoped working lost power in middle of cycle

First check that you have 240vdc at power hook up on back of machine. If you don't your problem is from the cord or house wiring possibly the circuit breaker. If you do then it could be a door switch, safety thermostat or circuit board.

Dryer stopped running in the middle of drying cycle. Circuit breaker was checked and reset. The light inside dryer will not turn on when door is open.

check that you have power coming to dryer...check for burnt wires going into cord also could have blown your thermal fuse. its best to have a electrical tester to check componants

My 5 year old Whirlpool dryer just didn't start one day.Instead of dealing with repair,we got a used 4 year old Maytag dryer. It dried the first load, then when I pushed the start button it made a weird...

It is the motor winding shorted out which caused the smell. If you still have your old dryer the safty thermal located on the exhaust housing is blown. White plastic with 2 wires going to it. Very inexpensive repair. Hope this helps.

Wire 3 prong cord

Electric Dryer How To Hook Up Cord pixel_trans.gifFor Three Prong Cords
the Center cord wire goes on the center terminal,
the left on the left ,
and the right on the right.

Note: There should be a ground strap or wire that runs from the center terminal to the dryer case.

For Four Prong Cords
the White cord wire goes in the center,
the Red on the Right,
the Black on the Left.
The green cord wire goes to the case or the external ground screw.

Note: Be sure to disconnect the ground wire or strap that runs from the center terminal to the case. In this Photo (A Whirlpool Dryer) I have ran the wire that runs from the center terminal, the Light Green wire, back to itself rather than cutting it off, just incase I need to put a 3 prong cord back on it some day. The whole purpose of this 3 prong / 4 prong thing is it separates the neutral from the ground. pixel_trans.gif pixel_trans.gif3 Prong Cord Whirlpool Dryer Example terminalblock.jpg 4 Prong Cord Whirlpool Dryer Example 4prongcord_small.jpg

Maytag dryer stopped working in middle of cycle

I think that the most likely thing that has happened is that the cord has shorted at the terminal block. Disconnect the power from the wall and then pull the cover off the back of the dryer and I think that you will find the problem there. It will be obvious.

Does not work at all

The maytag dryer has a main power board that controls every thing from the light to the heat time. You can change this board but probably it is best a get a new dryer. The board is very expensive because it is the brains of the machine. A technician will tell you to change the board but with the parts and labor it will be costly and who knows if something else will happen. You cannot tell unless this board is changed if there is.any thing else wrong because you need it before the unit will even turn on. I hope this helps you.

Maytag neptune dryer MD6

All you need to do is check the element for continuity with an ohm meter, if it has continuity the element is good. The dryer also will run on 110 volts of power but it needs 220 volts too run the element, so check and make sure all the conections on your cord are secure and that you have 220 at your wall outlet.

My Maytag dryer won't start when I hit the start button

My dryer light comes on for my Maytag SDE4606AYW dryer when you open the door and I can hear the timer clicking but when I hit start the motor doesn't even attempt to start but there is obviously power. My dad just installed a new power cord to the dryer but this is a seperate issue as we were obviously unable to check the motor before we got a cord for it. He has years of electrical experience so I'm assuming he connected the new cord right. Any ideas on fuses in the dryer or why it may not be getting power?
