This is your only possible venue, short of sending the units out to be repaired. Take a large ziplock bag and fill it halfway with uncooked rice(the real stuff not the five minute stuff) place your cams into the bag for a solid 48 hours, no cheating, when the time has passed take them out and shake loose any renegade grains of rice that may be trying to rent a space in your camera. Fire them up and best of luck. Dana

I have a kodak playsport which i used underwater and now it won't open.. it tried drying it as suggested in the manual and sent i t to the kodak repair shop.the shop is telling me that the main board got...

Hi.

If KODAK says that the camera is waterproof, then they have to repair or replace the device at their cost.

This may take some time before you get your camera back, but if the camera is damaged due to water, then they should fix the problem for you.

The KODAK repair shop should have told you what policy they have as to repairs of this nature, because I would almost guarantee that others have had the exact same issue.

I hope you get your camera going, good luck to you.

Camera won't turn on, possibly due to water damage

It is best you send it to the service, water + optics + electronics is no good. Dont attempt to open and repair yourself, you do not possess the diagnostic tools that the service has.

Samsung i70 problem

Yes, we had few situation with different digital cameras and professinal camcorders damaged in I/O port board due to power surge type damage. It is rare but depending on design of circuitry combination with laptop system. Due to the current present on usb port it is important to turn the camera off before unplugging the camera or any electronic devices. Remedy for the damage requires repair by technician. -James

No spare and no repair now you have opened it. Water damage is likely to have done more than you describe any way.
