Son just bought me a Bushnell Banner Dusk&Dawn 4 Plex, Mil-dot, 3-9x50E. Just looking for an explanation on all the marking on the reticle (inside of the scope) I understand the cross hairs and how to...

Simply put, the Mil-Dot is a way to estimate range with the scopes reticle. This type of reticle was developed for military applications. The space between the dot centers is equal to one milliradian (Mil). hence the name mil-dot. One Mil equals 3.6" inches at 100 yards, or 36" at 1,000 yards. To use this system effectively you must know the size of the target. For instance most people are an average of 6 feet tall or 2 yards. The formula used for determining range to the target is (size of target x 1000 divided by number of mils the target covers). Hope this helps FixYa up.

I shot my new 4.5x14x44mm conquest scope and tried to adjust the cross hairs according to my shots fired but the shots kept hitting in the same spot after a box of shells. i had it bore sited and i still...

Is the country of origin China.. Sounds like the reticle is stuck,, like from being dropped maybe in shipping. OK, Without any adjustments made shoot it one time, if you tap on the side of the scope, not the top of the turrets with a plastic/rubber hammer and point of impact changes (jumps) its faulty.. you cant fix it.

Is the Zeiss conquest Z-plex scopes first or second focal plane?

Zeiss Conquest scopes are all second focal plane scopes. This indicates that the reticle, Z-plex in this case, is located on the second image plane.
  • Reticles on the second focal plane remain the same size regardless of the magnification setting of the scope.
  • When on the first focal plane, reticles will increase or decrease in size as the magnification is changed.

Having trouble sighting in at 100 yards using the center crosshairs off of a led sled shooting rig. groups are barely 14 inches now and it was shooting well a few months ago. please advise Travis

Something is wrong with the mounts, they have to be loose or something. I can hit better than that with iron sights. Unless the internals of the scope are loose. You have it mounted in a sled? Is it bolt action? Take out the bolt, sight down the bore at the target and make it stay there, peek through the scope without moving the gun, The cross hairs should be on the target, if not, you are off to start. Setting up your rifle like this will put you on paper at 100 yards. Check it out.
