Depends on your your operating system but assuming you are using a version of windows you need to find My computer. This will open a window where you can see your hard drives & CD/DVD drives. Right click the CD drive you want to access and then click "Explore" or "Open" depending on your version of windows. Provided the disc is not damage this will allow you to view the content of the disc & drag it to a folder on your PC.

Go to my computer and select the drive with the disc in. It should read the disc. You will then be able to select the files with your mouse and click copy. Then paste them where you want them. If it doesn't read the disc, suspect a dirty disc or drive or a fault somewhere.

How to update firmware for vizio vbr100

To update the firmware for the Vizio VBR100 Blu-ray player, you need to download the firmware package to a computer with a CD-R or other optical disc burner. The firmware is a .zip file. Next extract the contents of the compressed folder to see the .ISO file. Use the computer program to burn the ISO to CD. Windows 7 and later included this type of program (right click on the file and choose Burn disc image). For other systems, you need a program that can burn image files to disc. Nero Burning ROM is one such program.

Now make sure that the player does not have an optical disc in the unit and turn it off. If possible, plug the Blu-ray player into an UPS (battery backup). Turn the player back on and wait for the No Disc message. Press Eject to open the disc tray and put in the CD with the firmware. Close the disc tray. The Loading Disc message should appear on the screen followed by the firmware screen. Press Select on the remote to start the update process. (Use the down arrow followed by Select to cancel the procedure.) Wait for the update to finish; you do not want the power to go off during this time. The disc tray will open when the "Success" message is displayed. Remove the CD and press Select. The unit will restart. To check your firmware version, turn on the Blu-ray player with no optical disc in the tray. When you see the "No Disc" message, press eject to open the disc tray. Press the digits 7 8 0 4 in order on the remote. Look at the Revision number of the firmware.

Note: not all versions of the VBR100 can have the firmware updated. Also, Vizio no longer supports this model. There are some third-party sites that claim to have the file. Use caution; suspicious code can be added to the file by various parties.

I hope this helps.

With windows 7 or vista it is very simple. Insert the empty disc in the tray. After a few second you should get a pop up asking you what you will lie to do. Chose burn files to the CD/DVDA window should open up. All you need to do now is drag and drop the files or folders to that windows.Once your done, hit the Eject button and windows will prepare the disc and you done!

I managed to do something to my laptop and i somehow got rid of the boot manager and i'm not sure what to do, i don't have a recovery disc so i don't know what to do

If you have been seeing a choose boot location screen then follow the directions below.

You need a installation disc for the Windows OS on your computer. A Windows upgrade or system recovery disc will also work. You do need to match the OS service pack and level with that on your computer. (So it you have Windows XP 32-bit with Service Pack 3, you would need the Windows XP SP3 installation disc. If the computer has Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP 1, you need that installation disc.)

If you do not have the Windows disc, you need to get one. Try a local Windows User's Group or your local computer service company.

Next you need to boot to the Windows disc. First you need to put the installation disc in the optical drive. If the laptop has a CD tray, you may be able to eject the tray with the computer off. Place an unfolded paper clip into the emergency eject hole below the tray and push. Then pull the tray all the way out, remove any disc in the tray and put the CD in the tray and push the tray closed. If you have a slot loading CD, if you know there is no disc in the optical drive, power on the computer and then slide the installation disc into the slot. Power off the computer once the disc is seated. Now turn on the computer while pressing F12 or C (there should be a brief screen that shows the correct key) repeatedly (quick presses) and select Boot from optical disc. You may need to try this several times (turn off the computer then retry). I frequently miss the key stroke for changing the boot order.

When the computer boots to the CD, select your language and the other prompted messages. Next choose Repair your computer and then select the OS to repair. In the Sytem Recovery Options, choose Startup Repair. Restart the computer.

If the recovery console doesn't repair the boot manager automatically, you may need to rebuild the files with Bootrec.exe. Repeat the above steps but in the System Recovery Options choose the command prompt. Then type Bootrec /RebuildBcd and press Enter. If it finds the file type Yes to include it. Otherwise, you will need to recreate the file. Type the following lines in order; press ENTER after each command:
Bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old Bootrec /rebuildbcdRestart the computer.

If the above doesn't work, then you need to repeat the boot to CD steps and then rebuild the boot files with bcdedit. I'll give you the link to the Windows support page: (this is for Vista but the recovery from the optical disc is the same under most of the versions of Windows). You can search at for the recover procedure for your specific OS.

These directions will work if the hard drive is still good.

I hope this helps.

Media player doesn't work

There is a usb cable that would connect both of them together. It can be purchased at a local computer retailer just let them know that you need a cable to connect both your notebook and desktop together to transfer some files. There is also another method using an 10/100 ethernet cable and set up a network to transfer your files.

Having trouble transfering my wav files from computer to tascam ( dp 02) even from cd to tascam . so i am unable to use .help? i have transfered my mp3 audio files to wav and tried to drag and drop from...

I had the same problem too but I figured it out. First you have to make sure your wav file is converted to (MONO) as opposed to Stereo, (which is the default channel setting). The best thing to do is to download a converter program, in my case I downloaded AVS Converter program which all I did was upload the wav file switch it to Mono 1.0 and that was that!! The Cons: for this program it costs money to download for your own keeping. I also suggest Audacity program my computer wont let me download it but a co-worker of mine has it and he said it's free to download.

I was trying to help getting the drivers online but for that camera it seems to be tricky.

I would suggest the following:

in another computer attempt to create an image file of your driver cd as you mentioned you still have it (I strongly suggest you don't lose it), then with a usb thumb drive move that image into the vista computer (the one that does not have the disc tray working). now for you to create a image iso file on the other computer (virtual image of your cd) you need nero or magiciso or another program to create iso files from a cd, now to read that image on your cd-trayless computer you can use a program called magic disc.

there are other programs you can use to make iso image files that are free

free alternatives to nero

magic disc
- this is free and it will create a virtual cd drive on your computer without cd tray, you just need to mount the iso file you created with the other programs and it will work like a cd drive so you can installation cd without ever inserting the actual cd.

good luck!

Cannot get CD-ROM to work,to come up on screen.

Ok with that you need to insert the disc and then go into the my computer section of your computer and then in the CD rom drive you should see the disc and you will click on it to start the process. However if that does not work then your CD rom drive is defective and you need to purchase a new one.
