My guess is the hose that is connected to the control for water height is clogged or has come disconnected. you have to take the top or front off to find the control and the hose.

Good luck.

The problem is going to be your pressure switch but sadly that's part of the main control board as well

MILDEW SMELL COMES FROM WASHER

. Set the washing machine on the highest water level, temperature on hot and the wash cycle to normal.
2. Fill a gallon jug with hot tap water. Once the cycle begins, let it run for a minute or two, then stop the cycle, open the lid and slowly add the gallon of hot tap water. Don't overfill — you just want to raise the water level so that it is able to reach and clean the inside top rim.
3. Add 2 to 4 cups of household chlorine bleach and restart the cycle. In a couple of minutes, stop it again and just let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Afterward, let the cycle finish, and open the lid to air out the inside.

My Kenmore 70 is also overfilling...

Sounds like it could be a faulty water level switch. A defect or an obstruction can mean that it can't tell the water to shut off. This switch raises the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm like device with a small clear plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level rises, the pressure increases on the air in the plastic tube. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch and turns off the water. It also signals the washer to begin the wash cycle. Clean out any obstruction in the plastic tube or replace the water level switch. Hope this helped.

Washer will overfill on small load and large

If this happens only on small load cycle , then it can be a faulty timer board.

however check also the water level switch, when there is overfilling this part is always the first suspect.

Occasionally it will overfill

The water level switch is your problem.
Open the control panel and remove the plastic hose from the level switch and blow through it.
Soap and dirt clog the bottom end and prevents the switch from stopping. The water continues to flow because of this blockage.
After you reattach the plastic hose , set the washer to spin and turn it on to reset the switch.

When washer is in super wash cycle water will not stop causingthe tub to over fill running onto the floor.

It sounds like you are trying to use the largest water level setting. If this is correct you may have a pressure switch problem.

First turn the timer to spin and get all of the water out, that start a washer cycle with the water level set to the small or low setting and see if the washer fills to this level. if it stops at the low level great Now if it continues to fill and does stop you may need a pressure switch or the hose needs to be replaced that runs from the tub to the pressure switch.

Now set at the medium level and try again. does it stop or over fill?

If it over fills you probably need a pressure switch however before you purchase this, make sure the hose is in good condition one pin hole will cause your overfill condition.
