Question about HP DeskJet 1280 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer doesn't print

This is a 12 month old printer. It's been back to the repair shop twice when it would not switch on. They couldn't fix it so they gave me another one. This one does not print. The documents line up in the print queue but nothing happens. I've spent hours trying to get it going. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and downloaded new drivers and tried all the USB ports. The colour ink tank is low. Will it fail to print even in black if this is low? Should I try kicking it? Help would be appreciated but I feel this model is a lemon.

I am using Huskylock 901. The top of my fabric is freying, not encaseing at all. Machine is 12 years old. I have taken it to repair shop twice last month but it still is not sergeing neatly.

If you've had it serviced and it isn't fixed, take it back and request that they fix it or return your money.

If this is a serger and the fabric is fraying, then most likely it is the knives--either dull, damaged, or not installed correctly.

Every casio we have been buying lately have a printing problem. the thermal printer will only last approximate4 months and then it becomes too light to read. we are using thermal paper in our casio pcr...

The problem you have is the model. This one is known for printer failure. The other models are fine. The model before it used the same printer and had the same fault. I couldn't believe it when they did not change the printer for the new model to fix the problem. Take the register back to the shop and tell them it is rubbish and you want your money back.

Have replaced Magenta twice in two weeks. Does not recognize it.

There are only 2 reasons why this problem happens to your printer:

1) This usually happens if your printing heavy graphics.
2) You are using HP refilled ink

Take note HP always suggest us to always replace your ink with original HP ink cartridge

Print is clear and fuzzy

I'm sure you have fixed this by now... But solution is...
Check the hammer phasing. Adjust hammer phasing if
necessary.
6. On the control panel, press the = + > keys to unlock the ENTER key.
“ENTER SWITCH UNLOCKED” briefly displays. (If “LOCKED” displays,
simply press = and > again. This is the default key combination. The lock/
unlock key combination can be programmed by the user. If = + > does
not unlock ENTER, get the combination from the user.)
7. Press the ; key. “OFFLINE / DIAGNOSTICS” displays.
8. Press >. “DIAGNOSTICS / Printer Tests” displays.
9. Press >. “Printer Tests / Shift Recycle” displays.
10. Press ; until “Printer Tests / Phase Printer” displays.
11. Press ENTER. The display shows “Printer Tests / Phase Printer” and the
test begins. The current phasing value is printed on the left of the printed
pattern of all H’s. As the pattern prints, compare the H’s to the figure
below. If the phasing needs adjustment, go to step 12. If the phasing is
OK, go to step 15.
12. Press >: The current phase index displays. Press > again: An asterisk (*)
appears next to the phase value.
13. Press < to increase or ; to decrease the phasing index value, then press
ENTER to activate the value as it prints. Continue to increase or decrease
the phasing index until the pattern of H’s is acceptable.
14. Press = twice: “Printer Tests / Phase Printer” displays.
15. Press ENTER to stop the test.
16. Press CLEAR. “OFFLINE / CONFIG. CONTROL” displays.
17. Press = + > (or the key combination set by the user). “ENTER SWITCH
LOCKED” briefly displays.
