Laptop freezes up when i plug in my wireless card

When I plug in my Sprint Broadband card (novatel Wireless Merlin s720) my laptop Satellite L25 freezes up. I lose all controll of my laptop, i can not move the mouse and the power on/off function does not respond. When i remove the card my laptop begins to work normal again. I have replaced the card 3 times already, so i am certain that the card is not the problem.

The card might not be compatible to your computer have you used it before and has this just started happening.

I have lenovo G560 this laptop i saw sim card slot under the battery so how can i use it

The SIM card is for mobile broadband (wireless internet anywhere you have cellphone service).
Before using Mobile Broadband, you first need to choose a mobile networkoperator (such as Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, etc.) and make sure you are in the coverage area of the network.
After that, you also need:• To activate the Mobile Broadband service through your local mobile network operator. Youwill get a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card after activation.

My toshiba laptop Satellite L25-S1194 wont connect to the internet. other laptops is able to connect. When viewing wireless network settings, I can see the laptop is receiving the signal, but unable to...

Is this the first time you are trying to connect to your Internet with that Toshiba laptop?

If that is your first time you need to call first your Internet Service Provider and check what can they do for you.

If there is no problem with you Internet Service Provider, try to press the FN+F8 keys these are the toggle keys to enable or disable your Wifi.

When you press those two keys observe the laptop if you will have a message that says Wireless Connection is On or Off. If it is off, try to press those two keys again to turn on the laptop.

I believe your laptop came with a Wireless On/Off switch, check that also if it is on there will be a light indicator for the Wireless Connection. It should be a steady light.

Now, if the wireless connection of your laptop is on and still you can't connect to your wireless connection, try to update the drivers for your Network Adapter.

Here's the link for the latest driver:

You need to search for your operating system and choose the Wi-fi on all categories.

You need to save it first on the laptop and after that you will have an option to run it on the laptop. After the installation of new driver try to restart the laptop and try to connect to your Internet.

If that will not work.

I have a Toshiba L25 laptop and a D-Lin Air DWL-650 wireless card. I'm not getting the best connection with the wireless card while my other computer has a much stronger signal. I'd like a recommendation...

im assuming its a cardbus adapter right? well that model is a wireless b signal, which isnt very strong, so any wireless g model should have a much stronger signal. it doesnt matter which one it is, as long as its wireless g, which most new cards are. hope this helps, goodluck

I have a toshiba satellite laptop model L25 I have a ativa router. problem is as long as i am near the router my internet connection works but if i go elsewhere in my house the internect connection don't...

Ok. Let me explain something: Not all wireless connections are equal, there are different technologies underneath the routers. It is listed as C, G, and N. Being the C the older and more limited of the trio. C has a span of about 100 feet WITHOUT walls. G has medium range, and N has a 500 feet range, and can pass through walls. You can mix and match between the three with mixed results. Let us assume your router is G, and your laptop card is C; then your laptop is limited on "calling home" to the router. Try to match your laptop card with the router, or you can even go further and go for the N card, so it can "phone home" to the router at a larger distance.

Type II PC Card Slot does not work

Probably the drivers are missing. Go to Start, Control Panel,Syatem, Hardware, Device Manager. There should be a line that says PCMCIA adapters. If it has a red or yellow check mark then the drivers are faulty. If it's not there the drivers are missing. Download a new set of drivers from

You are not obligated to use Sprint. If you look at the first sentence it says "Optional Sprint....'

Yes you can use any carrier you want. Most new computers today come preload with AOL, Sprint, AT&T. In hopes you will choose one of them since it is already loaded, but not activated.

My Wireless internet card don't work

i think you are a little confused, your laptop may have a wireless card internally, but you need a wireless broadband or cable router for the wireless adapter to pick up a signal.

A fax modem cannot be wireless and cannot be broadband as you cannot fax using a broadband connection.

Assuming you have a broadband connection you will need a wireless modem/ router or roter connected to a broadband modem, not a standard 56k dialup modem as they aren't wireless or broadband.
