How do i recharge the a/c unit myself? The a/c does not seem to get cold anymore.

To properly recharge the air conditioning you need a vacume pumpand gagues.. Once the system is vacumed down you will know if their is a leek that must be repaired before rechargeing. if their are no leeks you are ready to install 134 refridgerant.

How do i replace ac condenser?

You will need a vacuum pump, manifold gauges, and new refridgerant. You will also need a recapture device to prevent your old stuff from going into the air. Remove the lines from the condenser. Remove the condenser. Draw down the system with the vaccum pump. Recharge the system using the manifold gauges to give the correct high side and low side pressures. This is not a do it yourself kind of job unless you work as a mechanic for a living.

Pictures are misty if we take them in the sunlight & the battery power becomes lower quickly even if it is charged full.

You should know that if take pictures against the sunlight it will be misty. About the batteries, if those are NiCad batteries, it has a problem called memory effect. If you recharge the batteries before it's completely empty, the next time the battery shows it needs recharge when it reaches that level. So recharge the batteries only when they are fully empty. You will have to replace the battery now.

My ac unit works sporadically. Today it cooled

First check your filters to make sure they are clean and you have proper airflow.

If they are clean, then you either have low refridgerant or dirty coils.

The outside coils can easily be cleaned by disconnecting power to the unit, then using a water hose to spray off the dirt, grass, etc.

The inside coild can be very difficult to get to on some units and require a special evaporator coil cleaner. As for adding refridgerant, the Law requires one to be certified for purchasing or working with refridgerant so you may need to call a service tech for that. Expect a bill from $100 to $225 for a typical system recharge depending on how low it is and which company you call.

Where to add refrigerant to a 1997 gmc sierra. It looks like there is 2 places 1 is pointing up and 1 is pointing out. 5.7 V8

Look on the threaded caps that cover the connections,on top of the caps one should have a L for lowside pressure and the other a H for high side.Add the refridgerant to the low side.If your doing it yourself and buying a ac recharge kit from a parts store or shopping center, the kit comes with the refridgerant and the hose you will need to recharge it.The hose fits only the low side connection on your ac line and willnot fit the high side,so you shouldnt have a problem.Hope this helps you.

I have a frigidaire package heat pump,in heat mode it goes into defrost everytime it runs for a few minutes,no matter what the outdoor temp.is..it runs about five minutes or so and goes into defrost for...

That is usually caused by either lack of airflow through the outdoor coils. (Dirty coils, need cleaning)
Bad defrost board. (needs to be diagnosed with multimeter and extensive explinations and/or experience to be sure)
Low refridgerant, causing premature freeze up and in turn causing frequent defrost cycle. (Recharge to proper pressures with proper refridgerant type. Requires EPA certification for use of refridgerant, you would also need refridgerant guages, temperature reading device, and refridgerant.)
