1 Answer

I have a WGT624 router. I have had verizon internet for about 2 months. Recently, I could not get on the internet using wireless but could when just using the modem. I have unplugged the router and then plugged it back in but nothing happens. Wireless is still not working.

Either you need to reconfigure the router for the wireless configuration or setup the router for PPPoE connection. if you have internet directly to the modem contact your router manufacturer if not then you need to contact your ISP and ask if you need to setup the route rwith PPPoE connection and get the user/password

Start up and Signal problems. need to download WGT624 set up

.chk files are normally those produced by the system after a hard drive repair or some such, and shows lost clusters on your drive.
Your Broadband modem feeds the router (your problem device), which in turn connects to the computer's Network Card, the one with the RJ45 connector. The smaller connector goes to your modem, for use with Dial-up signals, not broadband. Cable modem feeds router, router routs signals to various computers, via RJ45 cables. Your router is probably for 802.11g signals, used by the majority of networked computers. The 311 in your computer plugs in to the 624 router. They work together to get you on the Internet.

Problem with wireless from Netgear wgt624 v2.

Do you have 2 router? a wireless one and one thats not?

If thats the case, try just plugging in the wireless. if your connection is automatic it will detect the connection and give you an internet connection

If its not you must configure the IP manually.

But you must only USE ONE ROUTER..

Works for short time then all lights blink

u ned to make sure router has been properly configured.u may give a try by logging into the router webinterface using 192.168.1.1/routerlogin.com

once u have opnd the router page clik on "basic settings-no and apply the settings",then clik on "router status" and check for ip address internet port(should not be o.o.o.o),if it has some numbers(perfect),then clik on "wireless settings" under "setup" and do all the wireless settings as per requirements

i hope u will try to do all these steps

Have no set up instructions for the wgt624 wireless router

do you have the cd that came with it? if not, everything can be downloaded here

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624v1.asp

there 4 different routers in the wgt624 family. this is the first. check your label to be sure it isn't a later model chipset such as v2, v3, v4. if so use the download link at the netgear site to get the correct downloads for your specific model.
