My nedle on my husqvarna mega quilter will only pick up the bobbin thread through one thickness of fabric and not through all three layers. Suggestions?

Try a brand new needle. A dull or bent needle will frequently not pick up bobbin thread. Also, be sure you are using a needle type that is suitable for the thread and fabric you are sewing, ie if you are sewing woven fabric, use a sharp needle, not a ball point or jersey needle.

What caused my empisal 760c over locker to have a timing problem n how can I solve it? Would a new from the box over locker have timing after one use?why

Timing issues are usually caused when the needle hits something it shouldn't, ie a pin or if the sewist pulls the fabric while stitching or the fabric is too thick and causes the needle to bend....

There are web sites and videos on the internet explaining how to address sewing machine timing issues. Or, take it for service.

Shuttle on a Brother VX-1120 sewing machine will not pick up the bobbin thread

Bobbin in backwards, needle in backwards, needle damaged, needle too small for the thickness of fabric or needle not the correct needle system for the machine are my first guesses. Try a new size 12/80 needle, flat of the needle to the back of the machine, completely up in the needle clamp as a first pass at the problem.

I get skipped stitches when I use my decorative stitch #27 and ZigZag stitch sewing heavy layers of fabric. I have changed my needle, cleaned out the machine and sew very slowly; basically I have done...

Did you use a larger sized needle for the think fabric? It sounds like the needle isn't penitrating deep enough. You will need a larger needle size for the thick fabric and you might try slightly adjusting the tension tho a larger needle may be all you need. Make sure it is a sharp not a ballpt needle too (assuming you're not using polyester knits which isn't something one usually makes oven mitts with :) )

Bobbin thread not being picked up by top thread. Machine sews as normal but top thread does not go round the racer.

Sounds like your hook to needle timing is off. When you sew through thick materials, a lot of machines have issues where the needle sticks in the fabric but all the internal parts shift and this causes the hook to needle timing to go out. The begging signs of this is skipping stitches. You will have to have you local independent sewing store do this adjustment for you

Hope that helps :)

Hi, I have a Husqvarna Viking 6440 and for some reason, it will not stitch. The needle moves as if it's making a stitch, but it just makes holes in my fabric. Can you help me?

First make sure your needle isnt broken ( ive run into this myself then feel so dumb when found out needle was broke) and you thread is thru eye of needle and then check to make sure bobbin is installed correctly, from what your describing sounds like your bobbin isnt being picked up by the needle could be one of those 3 issues

Check to ensure that you have routed your bobbin thread properly in the bobbin case.
