No DVD picture while playing Panasonic SC-HT920

My problem is while playing DVD's on my Panasonic SC-HT920 I only get sound and not a picture. I think my main problem may be the age on my 1989 46 inch TV. Although I think if I can get sound there is something that I can do to get a picture. The TV has 3 Video ports(red, white, yellow) on the back of the TV. The TV also has 2 Audio ports(red, white) on the back. I have the Video out from the Home theater going to The TV's yellow Video port and the adudio posrts connectewd from the Home tHeater to the TV.. However I cannot get the picture to come in. Another problem I may have is that my TV does not have any option to bring up the Blue screen to change the video settings. There is cable on the TV and we have Road Runner hooked up. Do you have any suggestions?

Re: No DVD picture while playing Panasonic SC-HT920

You should connect your Video cable from DVD to TV's Yellow pin. Then you must first select whether its AV1 or AV2 from remote control. Then you'r done!

I have the SB-HW950 subwoofer and teh SC-PT950 speakers and I just purchased a Denon Receiver to replace my DVD/ receiver player. So now I have SC-PT950 speakers playing through the Denon but for some...

Yes, the old Panasonic SC-PT950 did drive the subwoofer by its own amp, such as it was.

It's never a good idea to adapt prescribed connectors to bare speaker wire or vice versa.

Speaker Level and Line Level signals are worlds apart and equipment damage may result. Your Denon (model unknown) probably requires a POWERED SUBWOOFER, to which it would provide Line Level LFE from its Pre Out.

Read the manual where it doesn't say to convert a speaker wire to RCA.

Need 2ch Line-Out on my Panasonic hometeather

If you're dabbling around the headphone jack you might follow it back to the volume control then locate the pre-amplified front channels and tap off of them there.

Can i paly ipods with this system

From the looks of it, no. The system appears to only be able to play DVD via the connected player.

There does not appear to be any external inputs to connect your iPod to.
