Question about Dell (8H390) Sound Card
You can make sure that it is not the pci slot that is bad by removing the sound card and swapping it into another pci slot on the motherboard(if one is available). If you do not find a card installed then the on-board audio could be bad. New sound cards are fairly cheap unless you get something that does surround sound and sampling like an audigy card. Also check rca jacks are working and properly inserted and verify that your speakers are working properly. Go into the device manager in the control panel and make sure the audio device is working properly. if it shows the device has a problem try selecting re-install or roll back driver option. An update may havee been installed by windows or dell that caused this issue.
