I appreciate your suggestions but I have cleaned all three of the marbles and tried them in each of the three Trackballs. I've also been consistent about cleaning the contact points, removing accumulations of dust and gunk and cleaning with alcohol, and also carefully cleaning the little sensor window.
The mouse that feels sticky isn't a sticky mouse, rather, it's sticky movement of the mouse; and the mouse that moves freely and almost no control of the cursor is a freely moving, uncontrolable mouse no matter which marble is in it....I'd LOVE to find an address to refurbish these two items, I really like the T-CH11 and have never found a mouse that works as well for my hand and wrist.
    Any OTHER suggestions?
    Thanks, Carol Ann

I clean my marble with a mild dish soap. Dry. Then spray the ball with Pledge or some other furniture polish. Let dry for a few minutes and then polish with a lint free cloth. I have to do mine every 6 months or so. When cleaning the contacts I only use a small paintbrush. If you get alcohol on the sensory window, although using a q-tip, you can still scratch the surface.

Good Luck...

Clean the sticky marble well and apply a thin layer of any kind of wax. When wax is dry, polish with cloth or tissue. And also clean the contact points inside the mouse with alcohol.

Why won't my Logitech Traackman MArble FX work with Windows 7?

If you are trying to convert your Logitech Trackman Marble FX from PS2 to USB so it will work with Windows 7, you can't just convert the port type - you have to get an "adapter" that converts the PS2 signal to a USB signal. See for ATen - UC 100KMA. WEB SIte:

It allows you to convert a PS2 keyboard and PS2 mouse/trackball with the one device. It's what I use and it works just fine. The regular $2.00 port adapter was useless.

They are on EBAY sometimes for $20 or so. GOOD LUCK. :)

The cursor on the screen randomly stops moving. I have to pick up the marble in my Logitech Trackman Marble and put it back down in order for it to move again

You need to remove the marble and clean the contacts. They are more than likely built up with hair and lint. Can use a pair of tweezers and a stick pin. The contacts should be 3 little wheels.

My trackball is okay with large, sweeping

I have a total of six Logitech trackballs; four of the newer Trackman Wheel model, and two of the older Trackman Marble+ model (as pictured). All but one of them suffer from the problem described by dave48. The fifth, for some mysterious reason, never has this problem.

The solution I came up with is to light a candle and let melted wax drip onto the red thumb ball. A single drip falling on three random places on the ball usually does the trick. (The wax should dry as soon as it contacts the ball.) I then start moving the ball around to work the wax onto the teflon points. The movement will be VERY rough initially, but will gradually smooth out the more you use it. Sometimes the initial three drips aren't enough and the ball starts getting rough again, so I will melt three more drips of wax onto the ball and work them in as well.

This really seems to do the trick and for some reason the points don't seem to need cleaning as often either. You do have to be careful not to remove the wax when performing a cleaning, however. But if you do happen to remove some wax all you need to do is melt some additional wax onto the ball and work it in like before.

T-ch11 driver

Use mw9421enu.exe for the old Trackman Marble T-CH11. Newer mouseware versions do not fully support the Trackman Marble. Well, the mw9791enu.exe driver set works, except no picture of the T-CH11 model is displayed so a generic mouse is all you see. Use the mw9421enu.exe set to operate the T-CH11 with Windows XP.
