Question about HP ScanJet 3200C Flatbed Scanner
I would say the most likely cause of the issue is either that the scanner is no longer functioning or that it is experiencing power issues. Make sure that the scanner is plugged in directly to the wall and not into a surge protector or a power strip. The scanner does not share power well and pulls it in large amounts - when it can't get it it throws little power fits and sometimes will not turn on at all. Try another wall outlet and see if you can get it to power on and then do a scan to see if the light goes on.
If not it may be a bad scanner and then I would try and call hp and see if they have any upgrade units available - usually refurbished but they come with a 1 yr warranty and are significantly cheaper than buying a new unit from the store. They will also take your unit and pay to have it returned to go to an environmental recycling facility.
