Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I tried every single remedy provided here, on youtube, and followed the advice provided by Sony. In the end - thank goodness, I found a local repairer with a clue, and they told me that this problem (and the problems posted here are mostly similar to mine) - is undoubtedly the blu-ray laser. No matter how many system restores, 4.5 hour hard drive formatting, fan tests etc. etc. you do - if the laser is gone, it has to be replaced.
Definitely. The lasers go on these all the time. I repair them as well.
Just curious how much you spent?
I get my lasers from http://parts.consolerepairguy.com and they run around $75 a piece.
