Apple iPhone hard reset
If iPhone won’t turn on, or if the display freezes or doesn’t respond
•Press and hold the Home button below the screen for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
•If that doesn’t work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/ Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
•If that doesn’t work, reset iPhone. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Updating and Restoring iPhone Software
You can use iTunes to update or restore iPhone software. You should always update iPhone to use the latest software. You can also restore the software, which returns iPhone to its original state.
If you restore, all data is erased from iPhone, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All iPhone settings are restored to their original state.

1.Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.
2.Connect iPhone to your computer.
3.In iTunes, select iPhone in the Source pane and click the Summary tab.
4.Click “Check for Update.” iTunes tells you if there’s a newer version of the iPhone software available.
5.Click Update to install the latest version of the software. Or click Restore to restore iPhone to its original settings and erase all data on iPhone. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process.
Resetting iPhone Settings
Reset all settings
Choose General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
•All your preferences and settings are reset. Information, such as your contacts and calendars, and media, such as your songs and videos, are not deleted.
Erase all content and settings
Choose General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
•All your information and media are deleted. You must sync iPhone with your computer to restore contacts, songs, videos, and other information and media.
Reset the keyboard dictionary
Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
•You add words to the keyboard dictionary by rejecting words iPhone suggests as you type. Tap a word to reject the correction and add the word to the keyboard dictionary. Resetting the keyboard dictionary erases all words you’ve added.
Reset Network Settings
Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

How can i use an unlocked iphone for verizon"?"

Even an unlocked iPhone still has to be able to use CDMA. So, the iPhone has to have been on a compatible network:
Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, Alltel, and other small companies.

Verizon will still charge you for a dataplan, which you would want some data to use the phone's features. Depending on the myriad of questions surrounding "unlocked", you will find it easier to go with PagePlusCellular or other small carriers that run run on Verizon's network.

Most of those no-ciontract companies only provide 3G speed on Verizon's network.

Verizon tells you your monthly fee is one thing, then charge you more for supposed federal fees. Most of the smaller carriers actually charge you what you agreed to pay (those federal fees are already included in the stated monthly cost). If the smaller companies can afford to do that, someone's lying about the fees you are being charged!

Depending on how your iPhone was "unlocked", Verizon may be hesitant to put it on their network.

If you get the iPhone working on Verizon, you will probably be happy with the call quality; but unhappy with how poorly it works on you wireless network, unless you have an Apple router.

All the best to you.

How to master reset my Apple Iphone A1221?

Ok, I'm using my iphone 4 running 7.1.0 as my guide on this one, so I must not be using all the correct headings, but this should be close. Go to "settings->general->reset->Erase all content and settings". That should erase all personal data, contacts, songs, photos, etc... And reset all of the settings to factory default. If you think you may want to reverse this, or if you're planning on upgrading to a newer generation of iPhone and want to transfer your data then be sure you sync your phone with iTunes before doing this. Let me know if that does not work, there is another way to do it but it will require you to update to the latests version of iOS that your device can run, which will erase your jailbreak if you've installed one (not to be confused with re-lock your phone, if you paid to get your phone factory unlocked, and that does not mean a sim interposer, your phone should remain unlocked, no matter if you update iOS).

Al setings after reset the iphone

What network was the phone on previously? Was this an unlocked phone? If this phone was unlocked with software (not factory unlocked phone) and you did a reset, then you lost the software unlock. You will have to have the phone unlocked again.

You question isn't too clear but on the other hand, if you just can't access network data, you may have to set the APN settings on the phones celluar data settings.

I need to reset and unlock simcard.

To reset the iPhone follow the steps below;
  1. Begin by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the Home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
  2. Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power-off slider appears. If it appears, just keep holding it.
  3. Wait until the silver Apple logo appears.
  4. When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.
An iPhone reset should not normally remove or delete any data or settings.(site:http://ipod.about.com/od/iphonetroubleshooting/qt/reset_iphone.htm)

Is your phone locked with any particular network? To unlock an iPhone the remote unlock service would be a better option because, you need not give your mobile to someone else nor do you have any chance to enter the wrong unlock codes. To get such an unlocking service for your iPhone approach Prounlocking.com and by submitting the country and network to which the mobile is locked to you will be able to remove the restriction from the respective network. This will be a permanent unlocking solution.

WHEN I TRY TO SEE RECENT CALL HISTORY THE I PHONE 3 GS REVERTS TO THE HOME SCREEN. IS THERE ANY WAY OF RESOLVING THIS?

hello, ensure you are not clicking on the key wrongly,i would advice you put the phone off and on back to see if the problem stops.if it doesn't i would also advice you ensure you close any application you are not making use of.it could also be as a result of accumulated opening of applications. if that does not stop the problem,i would suggest you get the phone flashed by a mobile phone authorized repair engineer around you.
wish you good luck,
take care.

My iphone will not ring and i checked the orange dot

Some users who have recently updated/restored to the new iPhone firmware 3.0 have reported to have got into a problem where their phone randomly doesn’t ring when there is a call nor does the keyboard or slide to unlock button sound anymore. I got into this problem as well after unlocking and jailbreaking my iPhone 3G with firmware 3.0, my iPhone suddenly stopped ringing on calls randomly, resulting in missing a lot of important calls.
So if your iPhone isn’t ringing sound on calls, or if you are unable to hear the keyboard or slide to unlock click sounds, then try the following fixes before you panic and call Apple support:
Fix #1: Push feature is currently not working properly on jailbroken iPhone’s. If you have installed an application which supports Push Notification System then try disabling the Push feature as it may solve the problem.
Fix #2: Try Resetting the iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset your phone’s setting to factory defaults. Your contacts, calendars photos and any other data will stay intact.
Fix #3: There is a slight possibility that your iPhone’s headphone jack may have got some dust or rust which is causing the phone to think that the headphones are still plugged in when they actually aren’t. Try blowing out air in the headphone jack or try plugging the headphones in and out repeatedly. This trick may solve the no sound problem.
Fix #4: Restore/Update you iPhone back and start afresh: If the above solutions doesn’t help in solving your problem then you will have to start from scratch by first restoring your iPhone to the the original firmware
3.0 from iTunes, jailbreak it using redsn0w and then finally unlock(3G users only) it using ultrasn0w. This has fixed my problem.
Fix #5: Install Insomnia from Cydia: Install Insomnia as your last resort. When you press the power button on the top, iPhone goes into sleep mode after 30 seconds, in the process turning off your WiFi, sound and other stuff. When Insomnia app (available for free from Cydia) is enabled, applications will keep running and sound & WiFi will stay connected when the screen is off. This should fix your problem if all of the above solutions have failed to fix it.

Enabling Edge on Unlocked iPhone

On an unlocked iphone for the T-mobile carrier you need to add the full internet package to use the internet.

The apn is internet2.voicestream.com or internet3.voicestream.com if you have VPN internet.

Wap.voicestream.com may work, but it is not for sure, and might not give you the full internet. Only wap pages which are different than html.

To add this you go to settings>general settings>network>cellular data network or edge and then put the apn in the apn field. Make sure data roaming is turned on, and 3g is turned off.

Do not put in a user name and password, and go back to the main screen. Make sure your wifi is turned all the way off, not just disconnected.

Try to browse. If this fails you may need to reset the network settings. To do this, go to settings>general settings>reset>reset network settings. DO NOT reset anything else or it may re-lock your phone. Then when the phone resets go back and input the apn again, and turn off wifi.

Happy browsing!
