Yeah I checked that... the drain is fine. Any other ways it could be broken? It was moved here on its side if that has anything to do with it....and I only have a cold water hook up

The drain hose could be stuck too far down the drain pipe allowing it to siphon the water out. Also if it seals too tight into the drain pipe it will siphon the water out.

Amana front load washer has wet clothes after the complete wash cycle finishes

From the information you have supplied, I suspect that the machine is not draining the water away,
1] Check that the drain pump is working (it would be easier to hear it running, before the machine starts the spin cycle, or if your machine has a "drain down" feature)
2] If the pump is running, stop the machine and unplug it from the mains power. Remove the machine drain tube from the point where it is plumbed into the household waste pipe, and lay it down into a bucket, or large pan and allow the water to drain down [ you should expect to get up to 2 gallons (10 Litres) of water from the machine]
Allow the water to drain down completely by holding the drain hose as low as possible into the bucket.
3] once the water has drained completely, remove the drain hose from the pump and check that the drain hose is not blocked.
4] If the hose was clear, and the pump was running (in tests [1] & [2] ), it will be necessary to check that the drain pump, and the main hose from the tub to the pump are clear of obstructions.
Remove any foreign objects, and re-assemble the hoses to the pump to the machine, and the drain hose to the domestic plumbing.

Plug the machine into the mains power, and and set the machine to run on the "last rinse" and "spin" cycles and test to see if the problem has been rectified.

I hope this helps cure your problem.

Water drains out during the rinse cycle at times, other times the washer works fine trough all cycles

Check the drain hose , it may be too far in the house drain which will cause a siphon effect

A lot of water leaking out of bottom of washer

You got to open it up to see where the water is coming from. It could be the tub, pump, hoses, anything in there...

Amana washing machine will not spin. it agitates & the water drains out fine.

If your washer does not drain you need to check this parts.
  1. Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch(some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt(belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler

Water is leaking out of washer; think it is during the water draining cycle

The AMANA washer has an outer tub and a water pump. Please check these to make sure you can see where the leak is coming from and replace. Also, if your machine has a dispensing system, check all hoses for THAT system. If upon fill up the out tyub HOLDS WATER and DOES NOT Leak, then the outer tub is okay. Carefullky look at the water pump on drain.

Washer will not hold water

Make sure that the drain is within the height requirements. You stated that you just moved the washer and you should check out how the drain is configured. If the drain is too low, then the water will just run straight out of the washer. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

The drum wont hold water. it goes right out the draim

The drain needs to be above the actual water level or it will run out, the pvc should be above this point in order for the hose to get air and not act like trap and run out all that comes in,< woud suggest going to hardware store and getting piece to add on to 4 inch section with a coupler and washer drain cap>. they will cut to length, < take measurement of pipe size and length needed to get just bellow height of washer top, pvc goes together by cleaning and glueing, if the 4 inch piece has angle cut then it will have to be cut to strait line for good seal.

Water Drains out as fast as it is filling

You have too much of the drain hose inside the drain line causing the water to siphen out as its coming in. Pull some of the drain hose out and secure the hose. There should only be about 8 inches or so of the hose inside the pipe.

Amana washer leaking.

Have your husband disconnect the power and water lines, pull the washer out and tip it back so he can check the hose connections to the water drain pump in the bottom of the washer. That pump should have two hose connections. In older machines, it is entirely possible that a hose has either come loose or cracked. If the hoses appear fine, check the pump itself for possible cracks. If all looks well, check the hose clamps for tightness.
