My flash dont work

look to see if the flash is turned on by conventional means such as through the setup or switch in the right position to activate the flash. This all depends on the make and model of the camera.

Can i turn off the flash so that it does not come on each ntime i turn on the camera it is a coolpix L22

Yes, that is a good option. You know I had a similar problem. Whenever I tried to take a picture it appears too bright due to an active flash. I deactivated it, and my pictures began to look cool. Please, try deactivating your flash. Hope this helped.

How do i turn the flash off

Welcome to FixYa.

The FORCED OFF mode is the setting where flash is not activated in any recording condition. this mode used when taking pictures in places where the use of the flash is not permitted.

There are other 5 different mode/setting in using photo flash.

1. AUTO - flash automatically activated according to the recording condition.

2. AUTO/Red-eye reduction - flash is automatically activated according to the recording condition. It reduces the red-eye phenomenon by triggering the flash before actually recording the picture. After that, the flash is activated for actual recording again.

3. FORCED ON - use the when your subject is back-lit or under fluorescent light.

4. FORCED ON/Red-eye reduction - use this when you set the camera to PARTY MODE

5. Slow sync./Red-eye reduction - use this when you take pictures of people in front of a dark background.

I hope this solution will help you. Just send us you comments or suggestion if this solution was helpful.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Camera will not take pictures when the flash is on

You may have a weak battery. If the flash doesn't have enough power, it will continue to try to recharge thus preventing you from taking a picture. Turning it off allows the pic to be taken.

Shooting jewellery what settings macro, no flash + what

You've got an excellent camera, very capable of doing such. Would also recommend setting it to portrait mode, turning off the flash, selecting macro, and ensuring that you have plenty of good "diffuse" lighting. Most important of all, recommend using a tripod and taking the pictures using the camera's timer to activate the shutter. This will prevent camera shake as the shutter is activated allowing much sharper pictures.

Now, just in case, here's your camera's user manual as it also has great pointers for taking macro pictures.

My camera wont let me take pictures with flash.

If you are in manual, make sure that you push the flash button. Your display likly has a crossed out flash. This means you need to re-activate the flash because you are in no flash mode. (useful for museums)

Activate flash

Here is the solution: Flash cannot be used in burst mode! You must set the camera to single shot mode!

This really surprised me, since in my old Konica Minolta the burst mode did not prevent flash, it just took a single picture if the flash was activated or multiple pictures when the flash was disabled.

Slow taking pic, flash flashes multiple times while lenses acts like it is trying to focus

The evolt cameras use the flash bursts as a "autofocus help". Try to find points with high contrast or edges to point one of the three autofocus points at (you see these points while looking through the viewfinder and they flash red as soon as the camera is focused).

So, flash bursts basically mean "too low light" some other situation which is hard for the camera to focus. In such situations, try to switch to MF mode (manual focus). Or you could buy an external flash (e.g. Olympus FL-36) which has a red light for autofocus assistance instead of flash bursts.
