Freezer staying at 8deg, fridge working fine

Our freezer is reading 8deg and has been for the last 12 hours. Our refrigerator is holding its 37deg mark. What could this mean and any suggestions on what we can do?

Replace Thermostat. This will help to get the problem resolved.
