Re: Switching adapter that i will use on 12V 1A flatbed...

This would not be a very smart move!

I made a mistake and plugged the wrong power adapter into the scanner and the second it made contact, heard a pop like a diode discharging and scanner became a large paper weight or memory on a mantle piece.
I would not recommend using anything other than the required voltage and amps.

Will a different power source work?

You can go to walmart or electronics store and purchase a universal power adapter. It has switches on it that you can set the voltage and amps, and different inter-changable tips that fit your scanners socket. ...about 10 bucks

Can a 12V 6A power adapter replace a 12V 1.5A power adapter?

I'm not an electrician, but I do know that as long as the voltage matches EXACTLY (don't take the chance, most devices don't have a good resistor, or don't have one at all!), the current doesn't matter. I'll explain myself:
A consumer device (your scanner in this case) uses all the current it needed, and it practically doesn't need more! It take just what's necessary!
Connecting adapter which provide LESS is not enough, but more - isn't harmful!

Hope I helped,

Tipos de conectores para Power 120v - 15 volt

Mustek 600 III EP Plus scanner, it doesn't matter what is the adapter input voltage is (base on your local country power supply voltage), but as long as the adapter output plug in your scanner is +15VDC/1A Positive Polarity (positive inside and negative outside), then your scanner will work.

New Power Cord Stopped Working

DO NOT use the HP power adapter that is 19V / 3.95A. That is too much power for the Scanjet, which is expecting 12V DC (and a much lower amperage). It's possible that hooking up this power adapter may further damage the electronics inside the scanner. If the second adapter has stopped working then it is possible that the internal circuit board has damage already and another adapter may not work. If you have access to a multimeter / voltmeter you could check for the 12V coming from the adapter. If you're getting the 12V, then the internal circuit board to the Scanjet is probably defective.
