Question about Mitsubishi WS-65807 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

TV fails to power up. Grn lght clicks on 2 secs then clicks off

Clarification request.

Thank you very much for responding to my request!

"2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks---it will repeat it about 10 times" is exactly what it did when I pressed input and menu at the same time for 5 seconds.

I would like to avoid buying an entire curcuit board. Which part of the board is most likely to have the problem?

Thank you. I found one 10A glass fuse (close to power cord) that was not blown, but, I am unable to find pf04 and pf05 from either side of the TV. Where are they located?

Check fuses pf04 and pf05 if they are blown the convergence IC's are most likely the problem.

These are pico fuses, not glass, they are located on the middle board, the one with the large heat sink with the two large convergence amps screwed to it, The pico fuses are usually green in color some are also yellow.

The Service Default Mode (SDM) is a technical aid that can be used to display the your TV error code.
Follow these instrutions exactly to place your set in SDM Mode.

Turn power on blu led light after about 5 sec power supply swich off and red led blink 8 times what does it mean? regards

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

Daytek DT4660 - at ac on , led grn for 2-3 secs, one blink red, pause, 2 blinks red, pause , 3 blinks red, pause ,then rapid 5-6 red blinks followed by repeat of above. I've unplugged the 12 volt connector...

Hi

I work on Daytek 4660 models. I have seen the problem you are having and have solved it a couple of times by replacing all the capacitors in the power supply. If you use an oscilloscope to measure the voltages they may appear fine, however I have solved this problem by replacing all the capacitors in the 2ndary circuit of the power supply. It doesn't always work, but has worked in about half of the TVs that have come in with this problem. Also, just to make sure, if you remove the shielding from the board that drives the LCD panel make sure the little smt fuse is good. It's right on the 5V power line close to the ribbon connector from the main board.

Refresh all the connections to the motherboard and clean the RAM like shown in the image below.025c6b0.jpg
If nothing happens, reset the JCMOS1 (highlighted in the image below).

Shut down the PC first and remove the power cable connected to the power supply. Then change the jumper settings from 1-2 to 2-3 for approx. 10 secs. restoring the jumper to original settings (1-2). Connect the power cable and turn on the PC.
Hope this helps

Emachine t5026 not power on. replaced psu.

I would test the memory. Also I think some computers will shut down if the fan on top of the CPU quits working. Or maybe one of the other fans or the Hard Drive quit and is drawing too much juice causing the PSU to shut down. It sounds like something may be grounding.

Take the battery out, press and hold power button for 10 secs, and try again, otherwise you need to call the manufacture for an RMA request.

It sounds like the backlight or an inverter board on the television may have failed. Check your warranty status on the television to see if you can get it repaired by the manufacturer for free.
