Do not use reman or refilled cartridges. They leak and will damage your printer. You have to use a lot of paper towels, lightly moistened and get in there and clean, clean, clean. Even better if you can figure out how to take it apart and flush the purge assembly with water.

My printer is not reading the black ink and i know it still has an abundance of ink inside

Make sure you are inserting a genuine Lexmark cartridge and not refilled/remanufactured.
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

4. Close the printer cover.

5. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

6. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges.

9. If the black cartridge ink level is still not recognized, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. Or replace it with a new cartridge. It could be that it's gone faulty.

Canon Pixma MP780. Recently my color ink

Have you checked to see if the jet area on the bottom of the ink cartridge has a blackish sludge on them? It might be that the area that the print cartridges are purged/cleaned to one side of the printer (sometimes called a service station, or spitoon) has built up excess ink that has gotten thick and high enough that as the carriage goes over that area the bottom of the cartridge gets polluted with the blackish sludge. It will work slightly into the jets where the ink comes out and cause discoloration, even after you change the color cartridge. Open the unit to look inside with a flashlight for build ups and clean it (if you find some) with disposable things like cotton swabs, coffee stirrers, whatever you have that wont damage anything inside. Another cause could be mixing of the cyan and magenta and yellow somehow inside making a dark color representing black - but replacing the cartridge would cure it immediately.

If you were using an original cartridge, contact HP and they will probably ask you to mail in the faulty cartridge.

If you were using a refilled cartridge you might have to buy a new printer.

The black ink print is very very faint

Indicates that the printer is using only color ink to create a black color. Check printer settings to see if you can set it to use only black cartridge. Also try printing with only the black cartridge inside if the printer permits, this way you can be sure if the black print head is faulty.

On Epson C86 only the black and blue will print, even after clean

Remove the cartridges and check to see if the ink supply port [on the bottom] are pierced. If they are then the cartridges are old, empty, dried out or faulty. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

Pic`s wrong colors

you need to check
1) same color ink of the cartridge almost empty, change a new ink cartridge or refill the color ink (there is only one ink cartridge)
2) the cartridge ink channel dryer and constipated, take out the cartridge put the bottom surface touch down clean water (a little) 1 hr, then set back if the cartridge has enough ink.

My HP Printer does not show color. When I print black and white, I get a pinkish cast and often pinkish printing.

It is possible you're black cartridge is too low on ink & needs replaced. If you're black ink cartridge is new, there could be small ammounts of sticky tape left over the contacts of the ink cartridge. Please clean the ink cartridge's copper contacts (side only, not the bottom of the ink cartridge), with a cotton swab & a little alcohol. Since the ink cartridge is removed clean copper contacts inside the carriage holder as well. Allow time for the alcohol to dry. All most every printer installs software that monitors ink level's. To check you're printer for this. Click the start button, slide up to & click Printers and faxs. The printer and fax window will open. You're default printer will have a little check mark next to it. Right click once on that printer name, another little pop-up window will open, slide to & left click on properties.
You're printer (It's name) will open. Near the bottom click on Printing Preferences. Another window will open. Click the Services tab. Than click Service this device. You should be able to see the ink levels.

Have more questions? Please feel free to ask.
Hope this has helped.
Luck!
Mike

Black ink leaking from bottom of printer!

There is a small hopper inside of the printer, called the cartridge holder, this is where the excess ink is wiped off of the cartridges, and is just left there. it is usually on the side where the cartridges stay when they are idle. The easiest thing to do, is take the cover of the printer off, and blot the ink out of the hopper, do not use any detergents, or liquid cleaners, as this will ruin the cleaner head for the cartridges.

You have to get a new inktray. It seems to me that there is a hole in the foil (i. e. bottom of inktray!!!). You cant fix it by yourself because the foil is fastened by glue. Do NOT insert any BK cart anymore! The inktray already swims in ink which is collected at the bottom of the printer. If you like to open the printer follow the link and let it translate by help of google: http://www.hstt.net/refill-faq/inside.html#Brother_mfc215c Wear handgloves before you take the inktray out of position and have some papertowels at hand!
