Hi mag_dan,

your mp3 player may only support sound files of the wma, mp3 and wav format, therefore the audio book files should be tranferred/converted into one of these these formats.

try using the software provided here to do it:
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/

and then send the converted files to your player and enjoy listening!

I have an AA file that I downloaded from audible.com, it's a book. When I try to sync it to the Sony Walkman from Windows Media Play, I get an error. The error says "Windows Media Player cannot sync...

The "AA" file type is not supported in the NWZ MP3 players. However, you are still able to place audiobooks onto your player if you convert the file to one of the supported file audio formats: MP3. WMA, AAC-LC, and PCM. Remember that there are several iterations of MP3, such as variable bit rate and frequency range and the player does not play some of them.

What I do is that I pull the file into Audacity and convert it there. Another option is that if you can burn the audiobook onto a CD, you can then rip to WMP and then sync it to your player. That is how I get my language audiobooks onto my player. The last option, which I have never tried, is to get it into ITunes, then sync it to your player that way. ITunes will automatically convert the file before syncing it onto the player.

Hope that helps.

Have poloroid mp3 player model 151, 2 gbs, it won't play audio books, files with AA extension. Audible.com site has no solution, i.e, doesn't list this device ed rebranger@belllsouth.net

MP3 players play audio/music files that have mp3 file extension.
You need to convert the audio books to MP3 format.
If the audio books are on a CD, then you can use Windows Media player to RIP (convert) this to MP3 files.

How do i play my audio books from audible.com

You have to make sure that your audio books are in an mp3 or wma format. If they aren't - you will have to convert them which is a fairly simple process.

Recording Audio-books

The GoGear says it is compatible with Audiobooks, but only in the loosest sort of way. It has no way of natively playing them in order or keeping your place, etc. Even the GoGear's that have an Audible folder won't work well, b/c the deal between Audible and Philips fell through prior to release - LOL. Your best bet would be to open Windows Media Player, right click each audiobook track, select "Advanced Tag Editor," and manually re-enter the track number for each chapter in the order that you want them to play. Then delete the current audiobook files off the Philips, and then reload the ones that you have just edited. Good luck!

Philips GoGear SA6045 4GB and audio books

you will need to upgrade the hardware and then it should play Audible books. Go to Programs on your computer... to the Phillips device manager (several levels of menus). It should prompt you to upgrade.

When I sync an audio book, while the disks are in order in my library the mp3 order is different. Will it play in order?

Depends on the model # and manufacturer of your mp3 player. Most mp3 players will not play audiobooks in order, even if they deceptively say on their cover that they support audiobooks. When they do support full functionality for audiobooks, it is generally only from the Audbile music service. There are some players that even have an Audible folder in their structure, and yet they still don't support Audible or audiobooks, b/c the licensing fell through at the last minute.
Without a model#, I cannot tell you for sure, however.

Zen V Plus will not play Audible Audio Books

You must upgrade your Audible subscription to get transfer rights - if you ever let your subscription expire, you can kiss those play rights goodbye - this is the cold new world of mp3 player services

Problem playing a downloaded audio book

Perhaps your audio book was from audible.com. They use their own audible format ( .aa instead of .mp3) and only certain mp3 players can play .aa files. If the book is in .aa format, go to www.audible.com and check to see whether or not your player is compatible with .aa files. If not, you're outta luck. durok

How do I load an mp3 (audio book) into my Garmin?

If your audio book is in mp3 format you simply connect the USB cable to your unit and then drag and drop the mp3 files into the mp3 folder on the Nuvi650 device. If the audio books are in Audible format (.aa) then drag and drop them the same way into the Audible folder. Disconnect your unit from the computer and look for your audio book in the appropriate folder (mp3 or Audible) ... and no, mp3 Audiobooks and Audible Audiobooks are not the same format.
