Hi,
You must use the following key code:
*#52828378#
the go to the item number 6 (ota setting) and change the size from 500 to a bigger size (like 2048), then you're able to install the programs up to 2mb.
Good luck

SOURCE: "jar file is over max size" show, when install

It seems that the programm you try to install is to big for your mobile. Try to free some space on your phone but if it still doesn't work it must be because your mobile simply can't handle such a big programm.

You have landed on this page because you tried installing an application in your Samsung phone only to be prompted by this error: "JAR file is over max size" And now, you are looking for the solution for this error. I want to share to you the secret code that will resolve this "JAR file is over max size" error. I have tried this in Samsung Champ and it works. I am not sure if this will work in other Samsung Units, but it's worth a try. The reason why this error is prompted is because the default value for a jar file in Samsung units is 500 KB. So if your installation file (which is always in .jar file) is more than 500 KB, you cannot install it. But, I found a way to install .jar files which are more than 500 KB. Just follow this procedure. 1. In your keypad, type this code: *#52828378# 2. You will get the JAVA Test Menu after typing the above code, find the OTA Test menu and open it. 3. Then you will see the value 500 in Maximum JAR size field, change the value to a number higher than 500, i.e. 5000. 4. Save the setup 5. Now, go back to your jar file and install it You should be able to install it now.

How can i install the java game if it says that my *.jar file was over max size?

Sir!
Go to your phone settings and open up the application settings, then there is a option of max file size or something like that then open that option and change it to max size what ever you want. otherwise use the files which are compatible to your phone.
Thank you

Sir my nokia 2730c doesnt supports even 1mb game it says file is too large to be saved .what to do?it has a phone memory of 30mb

I think the problem is that maximum jar size. Assuming you are trying to install a .jar.

The phone can only execute a .jar file that is 1mb(the game you are trying to install might be a bit bigger than 1024kb?).

Phone specs:

Hope this helps.

I used SAMSUNG SGH-J150 mobile. When I download application or games, which size above 300 kb I get one error. Error is JAR FILE IS OVER MAX SIZE

Download the jar file through your pc. Create a jad file. (Download jad maker software here.) Open the jad file using notepad and change the MIDlet-Jar-Size to some value in bytes less than 300kB (e.g. 12345). Copy the two files (.jar and .jad files) to your phone and open the .jad file. Install when prompted.
