Question about Garden
My stihl chainsaw has been running great in the past. A little hard starting but once you got it going it was fine. I started using the saw this season and it just quit running. I replaced the plug and checked the spark and found it to be weak. Still blue but faint. I cleaned the coil contact and the flywheel but still the same. I checked the compression and found it to be fine. I checked all wires and connections and they were fine. After trying to start it I checked the plug to see if it was loaded with gas, but it was dry. After geting frustrated with it I tried a little either and it still would not start.
Try this. all stihl machines have a fuel filter on the end of the fuel line inside the tank. if you get a hooked peice of wire you can hook it out through the petrol filler cap. these are very fine and may not looked blocked. you can remove the filter element from its holder to clean it. you can also try the saw without the filter for a short time to see if this is the problem.
